About Me

My names are Emily Akinyi, I was born in the Homa County in the year 1994. I went to primary school where I completed my Primary education where I attained Kenya Certificate In Primary Education (KCPE). After I completed I could not continue to secondary education due to lack of school fee as my parents were unable to raise money to pay school fees as other siblings were also in school so I discontinued my education and started my small grocery business at home until the time I met with my beloved husband, I few months later my husband opened for a business shop and grocery in Mbita Town where we are now located.

I have one daughter who is in grade two in a private school in Mbita Township, Kenya. She is very bright and have high prospects of succeeding academically.

In my free time, I am helping with Church cleaning activities, My hobbies are singing and visiting places.

My Business

I am selling fresh food products like; eggs, kales, cabbages, onions, tomatoes, and corn. These are essential household commodities with a very big demand.

My monthly revenue is averagely US$ 140 and comes purely from selling the fresh-on-farm food products to ultimate consumer. My monthly costs go up to averagely US$90.Giving me a profit around the neighborhood of US$50 per month.

I project to have a revenue increase of 30US$ in the first two weeks of operation. The increased profit will be used to meet my family food, medical and child's education costs. I will save 30 % of my daily income inorder to repay the loan in good time as agreed upon by the ZIDISHA lenders.

Loan Proposal

I need a loan of US$ 100 to enable me buy the following food items;
- 20Kgs of onins@ US$30
-20Kgs of Kales@US$30
-20Kgs of Cabages@US$20
-10Kgs of tomatoes@US$20

The food items purchase with the loan will give me a weekly profit of US$40 x 4 = 160US$ per month. This is a profit increase of 40%. The loan from ZIDISHA will enable me to expand the business and repay the loan on time while meeting my family financial needs.
