About Me

Am James, born and brought up in Central Kenya. Am a college graduate having studied Information Technology and Graphics Design. Having worked in various institutions, i realized what i was making was so little and could only cater for my upkeep, bills and transport. Thus i decided to put up a small business with the small amount of savings i had. I started selling Scratch cards, envelopes and later i got an Mpesa. I also introduced low cost mobile phones and stationery. Every other month i try to improve on the services and goods am selling to clients. Currently i am planning to get an Equity Agent dealership and hope this will be a plus to my monthly income. As an upcoming business person, empowerment will be the best thing to happen to my business and the returns are certain having been in this kind of business for more than three years. The location of my business is strategic to attract clients and I have branded it with safaricom colors. I plan to also paint Equity Agent colors and brand my shop with mobile phone images and lighters. I like playing football in my free time and swimming and like discussions with open minded personalities who have entrepreneurial minds. Business empowerment and boosts through low interest loans is the best thing to ever happen to any growing business. This is what any upcoming business investment requires. This will in turn expand the stock resulting to increased profits. Loan payments becomes very easy if the business has the required stock or what the clients are asking and the seller sells at recommended retail or reasonable prices.
My future expectations are to get Safaricom Mpesa Dealership and be the customers are center in my area. Currently we don’t have one and clients keep on asking these services.
The kind of business i am in has a very bright future in that Kenya is having a digital revolution lately and clients are using Mpesa, Equity Agent to transact their day to day business. Also we are experiencing a hike in mobile phone usage in the region and in the whole world where Facebook, Twitter, and many others are at the best use among the youths. The sale of Internet enabled phones is on the rise and customers are demanding new models as days go by and as Mobile making companies are introducing new models now and then.
I am soo expectant to improve greatly through the Funds i will be Loaned from ZIDISHA and hope to progress from the first loan upwards.
I really thank ZIDISHA for their innovative idea of empowering young upcoming business class to succeed in life and prevail through very low interests rates. This is currently the lowest rate I have come across in the financial institutions we have in Kenya.
Finally, to all those who are going to loan their money for any kind of investment I would like to thank you for your trust in all those you engage with and trust them with your cash. God bless you.

My Business

The entire loan amount I will get from Zidisha I will invest in my business. This will increase my stock and Mpesa float and will be a major boost. My shop is strategically located next to a Matatu stage and in a major path that many people pass by every day. I will use part of the loan to purchase mobile phones to add on what I have and use the rest for my Mpesa business float. The demand for mobile phones is very certain as the growing internet needs and communication is a major need in this region. People are buying mobile phones day in day out and as new models are emerging now and then the clients are eager to change to new models now and then. Some clients ask for newer models and hope in future to sell them. Mobile phones accessories are also a need to sell goods and I will use part of the cash to add on what I have.
The rise in e-cash needs and transfers is not in doubts in this region. Every day in day out people are sending and withdrawing cash in Mpesa shops and the trend will continue and continue. This is because it’s the easiest way of transacting cash even fast than banks. Thus the business has a very bright future and good return if only the right cash is invested to the business and good management practiced. The three years I have been in this business, I have gained a lot of experience and customer relationship.
I will pay my loans on time in order to qualify for the next loans and all my income will be used in the business purchases and loan repayments. As the stock will increase so will be my profits. Thus good loan repayment schedule.

Hello zidisha,I have contacted Mr James this evening concerning his repayments and he promised to be back to his weekly repayments as per this week. He also explained that he had traveled out of the country and this interfered with his repayments since he couldn't access mpesa services this is the system that zidisha uses to send money to borrowers and receive back the payments.

    To ZIDISHA Funders.
I have failed to pay my weekly loan amounts and would wish to get back to paying my loan amounts. I had gone somewhere there was no good communication for three weeks but now am back and well. The situation was unavoidable and I had to go and take care of the issue personally. I wish to not repeat the mistake again and will avail my loan repayments in good time. I have failed to repay for four weeks and will try and pay as soon as possible.
I had stated that I will be repaying my loan at over Kshs 2,000 but I request you that I can reschedule my loan to Kshs 500 per week. Hope you will accept my request. I will try to use reschedule loan on my page. My business has been going on well although the month was tough; but the coming weeks hope will be okay.

I also thank Joseph Gatiba who is my mentor for his concern and follow up. God bless him.
Lastly I than you all funders for your support.
