About Me

I was Born in Lumakanda Village of Lugari Sub county, Kakamega County 30years ago. I grew up with a bigger vision, a bigger mind, a dream to becom a medical surgeon in this region of East and Central Africa. But wait, what happened to this great dream?
I started my Primary education there and eventually completed class eight with a certificate of Kenya Primary School Education(KCPE)
In 2001, I joined a local secondary school where I began to explore all the subjects that could eventually decide whether I could become a medical surgeon in future or not.
In 2004, I completed my High school and passed with credit of B+ but could not join university to do Medicine, instead, I decided to become an entrepreneur doing some business of raring Chicken and selling eggs at the same time. I eventually caught up. Imagine I started with one chicken, but by the time I was selling the stock that I had last December, I had 3000 Hens.I now decided to venture into Entertainment Business where I sell movies, cassettes, dvds and Cds of all kinds and latest arrivals in the cinema industry.

My Business

I currently duplicate and sell original movies, latest arrivals in the cinema industry, both DVDs and CD, of the latest Gospel and secular songs and TV series. I also run a video show where I show movies apart from selling them. Currently the generation that surrounds the environment where I stay is youthful.I mean 70% of my neighborhood consists of the youth who like watching such things, therefore its very worthwhile to sell them at affordable prices.
Through the Zidisha loans that I have raised first and second, my current business is worth 50,000KES.That's the movies and the video shows. So far I make a profit of 2000KES daily.
I intend to use these profits to revamp my retail shop that I began one week ago from the savings I had made from my business, save for my driving school fees that I intend to start earlier next year(2017) and also use it to take care for my family.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders as I have stated above in my profile, I currently engage in two business that of selling eggs and cereals.
I have been facing difficulties in terms of transportation of my stocks which has become very costly. For instance on eggs I place two orders a week and since I purchased directly from the poultry farm the cost of transportation is on my side,so I always part away with 4 US dollars for every trip, so in a week I have to make two trips which translate to 8 US dollars every week. Same applies to cereals since I purchase them directly from farmers I have to incur the cost of transportation. I can purchase for instance ten 90 KG bags of maize to ferry them to my store it will cost me 10 US dollars which is costly.
This transportation costs has really affected my profits negatively,at times those who offer this transportation service just refuse to ferry for me with excuses such as the eggs are so fragile they can break any time, or where I have purchased the cereals is so interior and remote so they can't go there. That leaves me stranded and stressed up.
But that has challenged me and made me to look for my means of transport and more preferably a motorbike since a motorbike is more flexible in terms of accessing remote areas.
My lenders,I have eight bags 90 KG of maize that I intend to sell each bag @40 US dollars, this will give a total of 320 US dollars together with the 580 US dollars am going to raise here, I will buy a new brand motorbike @ 900 US dollars to help me in transporting my eggs and cereals to my store.
This motorbike will enable me not to incur any transportation cost hence increasing my profits, also this motorbike on days I will be free with it I will be hiring it and get 4 US dollars a day hence boosting my sources of income.
Also am planning to start supplying eggs on whole prices to small business in remote areas using this motorbike hence this will make my stock to move very fast and so I will realize increase in profits.
My lenders if I secure this motorbike its advantages are so immense towards my business.
Kindly help me realize it.

About Me

I was born in Lumakanda village of Lugari subcounty , Kakamega county 28 years ago. I grew up with a bigger vision, a bigger mind, a dream to become a medical surgeon in this region of East and Central Africa. But wait , what happened to this great dream?
I started my primary education there and eventually completed class eight with a certificate of Kenya Primary School Education (KCPE).
In 2006,I joined a local secondary where I begun to explore all the subjects that could eventually decide whether I could become a medical surgeon in future or not.
In 2009 I completed my high school and passed with credit of B plain but could not join university immediately to do medicine instead after two years I joined university (2011)and did a course in Bachelor of Arts - Sociology at moi university Eldoret until 2015 - September when I graduated with a second class upper Division.
Today am a holder of a bachelor degree in social sciences Sociology.
Since the rate of Unemployment and especially we the youths is very high here in Kenya and this has made the few opportunities available to be marred with a lot of tribalism, nepotism and corruption thus getting a job here in Kenya is a nightmare and especially to us who were raised and nurtured from a humble background families.

My Business

I begun my business immediately after graduating in 2015.
I ventured in duplicating and selling of original movie's in Kabiria Nairobi courtesy of my first loan from Zidisha and a few savings I had by then.
But due to high competition and hence few market for my business I relocated to Malaba border where I ventured into a new business in the year 2016.
From the savings I had I was able to start selling of cereals and later started a retail shop but later I did away with retail shop since the stock was moving very slowly I replaced it with eggs
Being a town majority of the residents don't use swifted maize flour since it is very expensive compared to buying of maize and taking it to a nearby posho mill for grinding. This makes my sale of maize to flourish. On eggs I import them at cheaper price from the nearby Country Uganda at a cheaper price and sell them at relatively fair prices at wholesale and retail. This has highly made my stock to move very fast hence making good profits.
Through zidisha financial support today my cereal business is worthy 300 US dollars and my eggs business is worthy 150 US dollars.
So far I make a profit 10US dollars daily.
My profits I always use some to reinvest into my business, repay my loan at zidisha, some to pay for my bills, rent and licenses. The rest I use it for upkeep of my family.
