I am married with two children. I live in Rusinga Island. I am trained in social work and community development. I occasionally get contracts that may last for within 5 months within the district. At this time I contract some competent people to help. I trust them and know their ability since they are people I have trained and they have equally studied my diligence and affinity to satisfy my customers. The results have always been impressive.I opted for business as I felt it more satisfying other than mainstream jobs. Through the business I am able to provide for my family and support some of those who may need my support.Through this I am able as well to offer a job opportunity to some of the people who were otherwise jobless. I desire to expand the business in order to match the emerging trends.

My Business

I operate a computer bureau within Rusinga Market. Through the Zidisha loan I managed to buy more data bundles in bulk and customers were thrilled that there were no delays as I could not run out of the data bundles. Consequently I have realised that with additional machines I have to buy another desktop switch and at the same time upgrade my machines by replacing the older ones that are a bit slow. Since computer industry is dynamic I always want to stay relevant and at the same time add more equipment.
From the cyber cafe there is high demand as people always come to browse especially in the evenings after work.
I am currently in need of about $150 from Zidisha to top up the amount that I have to aid me upgrade my equipment. I have done my research and realised that an upgraded equipment especially the desktop switch will help in internet sharing between the computers for efficiency.
I have been trying to get funds from the mainstream financial institutions but always disappointed because of the securities and other technicalities associated that they require.
I am located at the central business area within the market and the services I offer are quality. They range from photography, Typesetting, Printing, photocopy, graphic design, basic computer training and basic computer repair services.
There is however competition which I seek to beat by just upgrading the equipment. I believe by doing this the profit margin will increase and therefore be able to settle the loan as soon as possible. I desire to take this business to greater heights since I can see the potential both in me and the potential customers.

Loan Proposal

I operate a cyber cafe at the shops of Rusinga Island. I have had good customers of late and customers stream the cafe especially in the evenings to use the internet. The emergence of the social networks like facebook, twitter etc has given a boost to cyber operators like me. I realised that the internet switch I have been using is at times faulty. I contacted some technicians who advised me to acquire a new one. Since I do not want to disappoint my clients, i thought it wise to get a new one which will have high speed and able to serve many computers since I plan to buy some more computers.
I have accumulated some money but it is not enough considering the budget I currently have. This is why I seek the loan of 150 dollars from Zidisha and top up my current cash.
Computer industry is very competitive since there are hand held devices that people have but should I be having efficient machines I will be at a better position to win the confidence of my clients. I believe with this loan from Zidisha I will be able to make a positive step towards satisfying the needs of my customers.
