About Me

My name is Andrew Ngoiya Kangethe from Kiambu County. I am a boy number 5 in a family of 7, all boys. I went to school up to college and I did just 1 year of college but could not go on with my course due to financial constrains and also to allow the young ones to be educated too.
After falling out of college I joined a church and I taught myself to play the piano by ear. I was employed by the church to be a piano player but the pay was poor and couldn’t manage my bills. I always had a dream of owning my own piano school to teach other kids how to do it too and make a living out of it. I worked several odd jobs and managed to get a bit of money to rent out a small office from where I could teach from. I borrowed a piano from a father figure friend of the church from where I was working and I started that way. The school picked up slowly but due to financial constraints and family needs I am always left with very little for expansion, pretty much feels like chasing my tail. Am always left in need but am grateful to make the small I make because it makes me of help to my siblings.
I am resilient and ambitious and I believe there is hope for me.
During my free time I like swimming and riding bicycle. I also love doing social work, helping in the community projects and in church.

My Business

My business is about teaching people especially the youth and the children to play the musical instruments. I do my business in Kiambu Town off Nairobi city. My target clients are the low income earners and secondary school leavers, so I always charge them something small to keep my business afloat. The demand for the piano lessons is becoming rapid and in a good month my revenues average between $300 - $350 and my expenses about $130- $150 so on average so in a month I make $130 profit, give or take. I spend the money on paying fees for my siblings, general family expenses and saving for my college fees.

Loan Proposal

I would wish to employ another teacher to help me run the school. With his employment means a few more guitars and keyboard need to be bought. With the loan cash I will be able to add to whatever amount I have amassed and buy 1 guitar and a Yamaha 333 keyboard.

Please quit with threats from your automated system. You have my 30k, I have your 6681 kshs. I don't trust you to give back the 30k I have invested as security in this platform. How many times have I reached out to you to dialogue only to meet some responses from the automated system. If there is no feedback, trust me, I will pay the 6681 kshs and stop at that. You can keep the 30k you owe me for security.
This system crashed my business. I want to hear nothing about zidisha!!!!!

    Good afternoon dear lenders,
I seem to have issues with my account. I am in a lot of problems with repayment. I have however got around 30, 000kshs I had invested as security. I want to exit zidisha since my potential to pay is waning. Is there a way I can pay the 6681kshs on top and you take the 30,000 I have as loan security?

I lost my job. Things are tough and many dependants, sick dad and I got another baby. I was also requesting if we can balance off the amount I had given; around 30k. Then I sort the remaining amount. I can look for a loan to clear the balance if you agree

Due to the previous political instability, the school suffered greatly as people though they want their children to continue, cash flow has been greatly affected.

    Good morning dear lenders.
Mine is simple. I applied for a loan and it went from the cash money will be sent to you within a week to your loan has expired. I had over paid with 6000 kshs since that's what the system told me. The money was re-embursed to my account. Now, the system tells me that there is 918 am yet to pay.
Am confused. I needed to buy 2 small keyboards because of the high student influx. Kindly please assist. Send me an email on why the loan was cancelled and what I need to do to get the loan.

    Good morning dear lenders,
Thank you so much for the previous loan. After adding the smaller piano keyboards, I got extra piano students and also got a contract with a school to teach. That's why I was able to clear the past loan within a short period of time.
I really am grateful for being enabled to buy the keyboards.

    Good afternoon dear lenders.
Trust you are well. You might have noted my delayed payments in contrast with my prior record. This is due to the turmoil going on with the two principal presidents. Most companies are delaying payments which is affecting business. I plan on clearing the loan before November the 29th. When cheques get issued I pray to be excused to pay large amounts. At the moment, whichever small that comes in will make minor payments.
    Kind regards.

    Good morning Sir Paul Graham,
Trust you are well. today it's the morning of Tuesday the 5th of September. It is when I have received loan of 31, 534 kshs. Am totally grateful for the loan and will use it for the purpose cow which I took it. add more pianos.
However, there was a message which was sent to me that is faulty.
    "Dear Andrew Kangethe,
This is to confirm that we have sent your loan disbursement in the amount of 55,087 KES.
Since you have not yet made the one-time Members Loan Fund payment, this was deducted in the amount of 20,799 KES as you authorized when accepting the loan."
Now, the first time I was given a loan by Zidisha, a total of ,8000 KES was deducted towards the members loan fund, only 1000 KES came to me and I ended up paying the 10,000 KES. Since I had agreed to the terms I paid. Before I under took the loan which I cleared, I was requested to add to the members loan fund which I added another 2000 KES. This message says that I have never given the members loan fund. Just enquiring is it true according to your systems or someone has been pocketing that cash. Please check then kindly revert.
    Most grateful for your assistance.

    Good evening dear lenders,
The last loan you gave me helped me clear the hire purchase i had put up for the 88 keys DGX keyboard. The piano has helped me alot with the sight reading students. It has been a real encouragement to start realizing my dream of owning and running a music school, moreover to create employment. As at now i have one assistant and with your trust you have invested in me, am planning on putting up a big school.

Thank you so much for the cash I have received. It will help in clearing the hire purchase I took to buy the 88 keys piano for the school.
I will however start paying next week. On the payment schedule it stipulates I start paying today and the money came in today. If I start paying today, I won't be able to clear that hire purchase arrears in totally.
    Thank you so much.

    Greetings Lenders,
The last loan i took helped in financing in the purchase of the 88 keys Yamaha DGX 650. It has helped in a lot especially when it comes to teaching the sight reading piano students.
With this loan, it will help clear the balance of the remaining amount. The piano cost a lot of money but it has been worth it. I appreciate the trust you have invested in a stranger you have never met face to face and i wont disappoint in repayment.
    Thank you once more.
