About Me

I am Nancy born in Nyeri county which is in central Kenya. I grew up in this area where I also went to primary and later secondary school. I did not go beyond secondary school because my parents could not afford the high fees demanded by colleges at that time.

I later met my husband who was working in far away city of Mombasa where I relocated and we are happily married with three kids. I believe my entrepreneurial skills are inborn because I love the work I do. I hope to expand my small shop into a big store in future.

My Business

I deal with sales of new and used clothes. I sell new clothes for babies and little children and used clothes for adults. I get my stock from large stores where I buy at a wholesale price and then retail them at a profit. My profit margin varies from 25 - 40% depending on the source and the season.

I make around $200 net per month and I use this money to run the family budget. I hope to keep growing my business with the good support of Zidisha to enable me reach my goal of financial freedom.

Loan Proposal

I will be able to stock a new line of children's clothes. I intend to buy warm clothes since we are now heading to the rainy season which is characterized by cold weather. I am hoping to make good profit from this venture which will then be injected back to my business to accelerate growth.

This will in turn increase revenue and this means a better life for my young family.
