About Me

I am Nancy born in Nyeri county which is in central Kenya. I grew up in this area where I also went to primary and later secondary school. I did not go beyond secondary school because my parents could not afford the high fees demanded by colleges at that time.

I later met my husband who was working in far away city of Mombasa where I relocated and we are happily married with three kids. I believe my entrepreneurial skills are inborn because I love the work I do. I hope to expand my small shop into a big store in future.

My Business

I deal with sales of new and used clothes. I sell new clothes for babies and little children and used clothes for adults. I get my stock from large stores where I buy at a wholesale price and then retail them at a profit. My profit margin varies from 25 - 40% depending on the source and the season.

I make around $200 net per month and I use this money to run the family budget. I hope to keep growing my business with the good support of Zidisha to enable me reach my goal of financial freedom.

Loan Proposal

We are now approaching the festive season where the demand for new clothes picks up. I want to position myself so as to reap the benefits of this high demand. With the money from this loan, I will be able to buy ladies clothes as well as children's wear and accessories.

This will add to the existing stock. I am targetting my regular customers and I also hope to attract many visitors who come calling to my town during the festive season. I am well known in this business and I am very optimistic that with an investment of USD 550, I will be able to make a good profit of about 20% after all the expenses. This will give my business a much needed boost and help me end this year and begin next year on the right footing.
