MY STORY
My name is Serwaa Monica and my parents are Mr and Mrs Manu. We all come from Drobo, but I live at Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.
I commenced my elementary school at Adiokor M/A primary school. Unfortunately, my parents encountered some casualties and later got divorced. At class six, things were difficult for my mother, so I had to leave and stay with my father, who was then in Boodi in the Western region of Ghana. Indeed I completed Junior High School in the fourth year.
After J.H.S, I could not continue with my studies due to the negative impact of my parents' separation, which affected the payment of my fees. Here I was sent to Berekum to live with a relative and learn a trade, thus [I began to learn] tailoring. Later I could not afford my apprenticeship fee so I quit.
A generous neighbor helped me with an amount to start a business. I took to the selling of ornaments on retail from house to house.
I like reading and watching movies.
MY BUSINESS
As I have made myself known to you earlier, I began my business in the middle of 2012. It is a house-to-house retail sale.
I sell ornaments such as earrings, necklaces, watches, beads and other commodities such as combs, mirrors, lip gloss, knives and the like. As a matter of fact, these commodities are in high demand and therefore my percentage profit is about 14%.
I took this job because humans cannot do away with fashion. To this effect, I wish to bring such attractive materials to their doorsteps in order to save them the time and energy of going to the market to buy them.
Loan to open a kiosk instead of selling door to door.
There is a book entitled " oliver Twist" which is about a poor orphan who really asked for more food knowing that he was not satisfied.I must avow that Zidisha has brought a positive impact into my life now.My profit margin has increased to a reasonable point so I now live a happy life.
With the income that I have from the previous sales, I am thinking of mounting my own kiosk so that I can purchase a lot of stock for my jewelery business.
In deed, it is really going to help me employ a needy to hawk some of the products from house to house for me since the comodities become too heavy to carry alone.
As a result, I am pleading with the Zidisha team to grant me a loan of about 650 Dollars to complete this project.I count on your cooperation. Thanks
