About Me

Evans Ansu Amponsah is a business-minded young man very hardworking, honest and a graduate from the university of Ghana. I am from a small village in the Asunafo South district of Ghana called Kukuom. I am the seventh but unluckiest born of my parents out of ten siblings. This is because i was born with a disability condition. All my siblings leave together in one compound house with me and our parents. Though I enjoy most outdoor games which includes football, basket ball and several others, I cannot play due to my physically challenged condition. Yes! there are times in my life I thought of given up. My parents were not considering me as existing. I remember some time ago when I overheard my mother telling someone that she has nine and a half children. I knew from that day that I am a half rated human in my family. Sadly, this is because of my disability condition. I therefore took it upon my self to work very hard to ensure a better future. My parents didn't spend much on my education. To them, I could never be an advantage. A Catholic church in my village helped me throughout my education. After completion, I decided to start something on my own. At least to feed on. I run a stationary and printing shop in my village. Over the years, it has been the source of income for me. I am hopping to help others through my job.

My Business

Right from childhood, I realised that I am responsible for my own well being, survival and a successful life since my parents never showed readness for moral and financiaI support. To them, I was just a disadvantage sickler with nothing to hope for. All these negative thought about my personality didnt discourage me at all. I read so many books to motivate me. Since help was not comming my way, I decided to begin my own business. Since that time, I have been in business for the past two years up till now. I had a massive growth and positive turn of my business and life when Zidisha lend me a first helping hand loan to purchase a Lesser HP Printer and furnitures respectively which I paid up successfully. Many client from far distances visits my shop for printing. Recently, due the work load on a single desktop computer available in my shop, many jobs that should have been done in my shop are transferred to another shop. But thanks to Zidisha and kind lenders like you, I was able to raised a loan to buy one extra computer and again repaired my old computer as well. This has actually moved my business to the next positive level. With your help, I am able to provide more services to clients which in effect increase my profit with which I was able to pay up the loan on time with good payment record. I didn't enjoy this profit alone. I paid my tithe regularly at church and provided support to my family members as well. With the support from zidisha, I hope to expand my business to be able to employ several jobless university graduates and the youths in my village. It has been my dream to support others. This I want to do by opening a rental business to employ workers.

Loan Proposal

I have arranged to open a new shop for my brother who just completed university. Since my line of business is good, I have acquired a plot of land in a nearby town to setup a new business. This in effect, will boost my net income whereas repaying this loan will be simple and regular as usual. Thank you

Evans deserves funding for any of his business plans. He has a clear vision of what he wants to accomplish, can adapt to changing markets and has created jobs to employ others in his community. I highly recommend funding any loan he applies for!

Evans is a fabulous borrower. I am thrilled at his vision for helping others in his community. He is what Zidisha is all about and brings great joy to me as a lender. He will be successful in whatever he does in the future. He has a clear vision of where he wants to be and takes the necessary steps to get there. I am proud of all he has accomplished and look forward to funding many more of his loans.

    Good day my lenders,
I am sorry for my lateness in loan repayment. The reason is that, I lost my mum due to illness which she suffered from. I have to use a lot of money from my business for her healthcare which could not yeild any fruit. I even spent major percentage of my base capital which i use in running my business making my business collapsed eventually. It has affected my business and my private life as well since my wife divorced me due to financial hardship. I have relocated to the village to start all over again as a farmer. Lenders im sincerely sorry for not repaying my loan on time.
I want to enter into rice farming but to get simple farming tool is problem to me since no body is willing to help me. I belive in God for a better future ahead.

Dear lenders, i am very much grateful to you for supporting my business. It is unfortunate that I am unable to speed up my repayments. The land owners of which i rented the land for my oil extrating business are demanding their land as I was served with court injunction on 23rd september 2018 to vaccate the land. Since then, my business has suffered major setback since my capital is far too low to buy a piece of land for my business. By the grace of God I still keep up my business ideas and with hopes that one day someone somewhere will help me buy a plot of land to commence my business.

Slowly, my new business is gaining recognition in my region. I have employed three widows who help in the oil extracting process and palm fruit selection. They do this work manually with their hands. I pay each worker GHc 100 ( $23 ) every month. Though they complain at times, that is what I could afford now.

I have a projection of making this palm oil extracting business become very big. I am currently suffering financial difficulties because of the death of my mother. I need better and morden machines to aid in this business as about 80% of the oil extracting process is done manually.

Alongside my first business which has suffered some setbacks for sometime now, I am planning to start the production of palm oil as another business idea. This extracts from palm fruit is use in soap making and other domestic dishes. It is of a very high demand in my region now and the cost of production is very considerable based on the amount of capital to set up the business. I have therefore reemployed people whose services would be needed in this new area of business.

Dear lenders, my business is suffering setbacks due to recent fire that occure in my shop. Several of my machines are not functioning at the moment. I have laid off most of my workers who are mostly widows. But I am keeping high hopes that I will be able to get back into full business soon.

I am sorry to hear about the fire Evans. I hope you can get back up and running your business quickly. One of the other Zidisha members sells water sachets. She has started supplying a few others to also sell sachets and lets them keep a part of the profits. Is this an idea your widows can try? Say hello to your family for me, Mary
