i am a third born in a family of 6. we did not grow up very rich but my mum who was a business lady taught me that the little i have can change the world.
I was lucky enough to have been educated to masters level and hold a M.A in Counseling Psychology.
However I have always had passion for business and have been n the look out to have a business of my own.
I have loved baking ever since I can remember. It was my favourite pastime and when my pals started requesting for birthday cakes for their children i decided it was time to venture into this.
I have three children aged 4, 3, 1. and they are the reason i smile all day. My husband is an engineer and not very into business but his support at home and providing for us has made it easier for my business to grow because most of the money is reinvested.
Jambo Bread & Cakes is a baker located in Syokimau, Machakos County. It has been running for 2 years now. We do pastries like bread, scones, buns, and different cake varieties.
in general the income from the shop ranges from 40,000-60,000 on good months. my main expenses are rent, salaries for 4 employees, water and electricity.
I also have a Milk dispensing unit also locally called MILK ATM and sell about 100litres per day.
My products are in demand because the location of the business serves a total of 800 households living in apartment blocks that have 50 apartments each.
i still have no competition so far in the area so i am enjoying the monopoly.
I feel like a ready to set up an new shop next year and have secured a place already.
I would like to Buy a three deck oven to increase production. The oven costs sn average of 1900 dollars. This oven will see an increased production of current products and allow for introduction of new products. The products that will be increased are bread and scones. Tbese are specifically to meet the growing demand for pastries in schools and mini shops. We are currently using one oven for all pastries and these has seen delays in meeting the demand. Having a new oven will endure that we meet our demand.
