About Me

I am the fourth born child in a family of seven children. I was born in nyando which is my home district my father worked as a clerk with smithkline & Beecham in Nairobi i thus went for my primary education in Nairobi and after sitting for my primary school i went to Onjiko high school and after high school i tried my hands in business selling house ware in Nairobi after which i moved to Kisumu and later on to Busia where i have been stationed for the last six years currently i operate a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) in Busia.

My Business

When i left Kano for Busia i was running a business that saw me provide horticultural products from Busia to kisumu as Busia town is located at the border of Kenya and Uganda and Uganda being an agricultural rich country i was able to save enough to enable me buy a motorcycle which aids me in transportation of the green products thus reducing my transportation costs and the cycle doubles up also as a boda boda thus enabling me to maintain it ( Servicing and fuel).I therefor let it out and use it only once a week when i am transporting my goods.

Loan Proposal

The major challenge that boda boda operators face in running this business is theft of the cycles and police crackdowns on un-road worthy motorcycles and a greater part of the worthiness regards insurance and helmet my cycle has only come helmet that came from the manufacturer i thus intend to buy a second helmet for the passenger that will cost KES 3500 and pay for insurance that will cost Kes 5000 and if succeed in this i will be gratefull to Zidisha.

    I am currently experiencing delayed payments once i have delivered the goods to my customers this has prompted me to reschedule my payments to avoid disappointing my lenders and stop my on time performance from dropping.

    The loan helped me in purchasing a new motorcycle that has solved my transportation problem from Busia to Kano and i am looking forward to being lend again.

    I am unable to pay the initial amount as I had to take a small loan to enable me to pay for the motorcycle this means I am currently servicing two loans for the same project but once my financial situation allows I will return revert to the initial amount if not a higher amount.

    When i got the money that I had applied for through Zidisha the agreed period with the seller of the motor cycle was long overdue I could therefore not continue with the transaction. I therefore went to get a new motorbike with the loaned sum and my savings I have been able to purchase a brand new motor cycle this has really eased my movement without interfering with my other motorcycle that i have let out as a taxi(Boda boda) thank you Zidisha.
