About Me

I am teacher in Ghana Education Service. I have been teaching at the Adanwomase D/A Junior High School for the past five years. I teach English Language as a first language.
I am married with three kids. Things were okay for the family until my husband lost his job in 2012. Since last he has beenn working as a literature evangelist for Adventist Book Centre at Kumasi, Tafo. He support the family and himself at school with the money that he earns from this work.
My husband’s aim is to become a lecturer. To achieve this goal, he needs to further his education. He got admission at University of Ghana to pursue PhD in Political Science. We did not have enough money to support him, but he was determined to go.
My desire is to help my husband further his education. With a PhD I hope he will be able to secure better Job in the academia and will be able to support the family and others who need our help.
Getting a loan from the Bank to pay the fees will also reduce our current two meals a day. The current interest rate is high and it does not help people with lower earnings. We found Zidisha to be a partner in reducing poverty and bringing smiles on the faces of people, especially the poor. We believed that Zidisha would come to our aid.
I obtained a assistance from Zidisha to finance a small venture at home and supported my Husband. He was able to begin his school and there joy at home.

My Business

Recently, my husband came home with a list books that he want to buy from ABC. But he does not have enough money.
I wish I could help him another loan from Zidisha.
In my estimation, a loan of GHS1100 can help him pay part of the remaining 30 percent of his fee and still be able to stay in the LE business.
My husband helped me pay back the last loan. When we combine what we both earn from home venture and from the LE business we can pay the loan.

Loan Proposal

I have committed myself to helping my husband finish his PhD programme at the University of Ghana. He pays GHS11000 every year. He is to write his second semester examination on Tuesday 9th May 2017, but he has an outstanding of GHS3000 fee to pay. I would like to support him pay this amount.

I will use the money to help my husband pay his fee. This will help to write his exam and also give me relief of having been able to assist him pay. Thanks to Zidisha.

My capital is very small. The budget for my business was GHS1100 but the loan I got was less than half of the amount. So paying GHS60 every week is throwing me out of business. But, if i reduce it to GHS30 it becomes manageable and I can pay and stay in business. Thank you.

After communicating with Ellen, she has now started making payment of her loan. I talked to her again on the need for payment on time so as to improve her chances of getting her nest loan to be funded quickly. I as well show her the possibility of decreasing her weekly payment if she finds it to be too high for.
