I was born in a family of five as the first born,I went to primary school through Collage,I din't go to a nice Collage because of school fees and my siblings,After collage i started a church with the principle that i would not get any money from it but support it,i lost all my friend , but now people who are joining us are growing in many ways, in business I started farming when i was very young and was inspired by my Grandfather,I raised chicken which paid my school fees, and had some left for my pocket money,Because of the passion in farming ,I live in a culture where people depend on farming ,but the don't do it smart, and i want to be a solution and let them know and see that farming is business, not just a way of life.
After venturing into mixed farming afew years ago I can see the fruits of my labor. I started with poultry the moved to dairy cows, and all this has been through Zidisha. Now I have 500 layers and another 250 chicks to replace the layers once they are old in the next six months. I then bought some. Dairy cows venturing into production of milk I have three and four haifers and thee bulls. From these. I am able to pay school fees and support my family and the less fortunate in the community. This loan iam applying today I want to raise ten young bulls for butcher at the end of the year a will be buying them for seven thousand fatten them and sale the after a year for 40k.my strategy is for the current project the chickens and cow pay for the bulls. From which I plan to buy land at the end of the year after selling them and borrowing another loan. Thanks Zidisha.
After venturing into Chicken farming through zidisha and getting a profit I bought two cow and two young bulls ,to expand and diversify my farming. With this loan I will be able to put a concrete floor which will cost be 200 dollars, a water tank for 50 dollars I will also put up a storage facility for the feeds of the cows which will cost me 200 dollars , I am also planning to buy corn for making silage since now corn is almost ready for this stage and this is going to cost me 250 dollars then by the plastic paper for the storing the silage 50.
The farm will now be able to employ one permanent work and two casual workers ,this will also increase my income . I have two sisters one in high school and another one in the university who depend on me directly this also will help in paying part of their school fee.
The two cows will be calving in January ,I will be able to get 30liters of a day making 12 dollars a day and after expenses, 7dollars a day as profit. I hope to empower and transform the community through this. Thanks Zidisha family.
