About Me
My names are Doreen Sitali, a widow and a proud mother of 5 children but with only 2 surviving children. Am a breed winner in the family and that helps me to work hard even more so that i can feed and take my grand children to school , the children left by my 3 children who have passed.
I came to start my own business after loosing my husband who was a sole provider so that my children can go to school through the help of other women in the community who showed me on how i can run a bossiness. I enjoy gardening in my free time.
My Business
I own a shop at the market where i sell chitenge wrappers and farming tools. am also a poultry farmer. i keep chickens and pigs for business. i choose this kind of business because i know that it is a source of nutrition for people in my community, and also most women need wrapper to wear .I also own about 5 flats that i rent out to the people in my community.
The cost i incurs usually is buying feed for the chickens and pigs. i also want to renovate the poultry so that i put up a bigger on to accommodate about 1000 birds.
i use the profits to run the home and take my grandchildren to school and also reinvest in the business.
also i want to restock my shop
Loan Proposal
when i receive the loan am going to buy some more chicken feed so that my birds can grow well. the benefit is that i will have big chickens at the end of the day and that will mean more profits as the selling price increases depending on the weight.
I expect the profit to increase by 25% at a minimum.
Income Source
its true that most businesses are facing challenges at the moment because of economic challenges the country is going through at the moment, but with food business you can never go wrong.
Food is the number one priority for every household and thus puts me at an advantage of selling fast as the birds now are on demand. most of the people are avoiding to keep chickens because of the high cost of feed, which puts the few of us keeping at an advantage because supply low.
