My Business

Supply of Charcoal Briquettes manufactured from Biomass.

Briquettes are flammable blocks of matter used as fuel. They are made from extruded or compressed shredded combustible materials. A binding agent like starch may be necessary to hold the materials together, though pressure may at times be enough. Some of the common materials used to make briquettes are charcoal fines, mineral char, sawdust, chaff from rice, peanut and other crops, leaves and any biomass materials.

So why do we have to used briquettes instead of firewood, charcoal, or electricity?
The charcoal briquettes burn slowly, are more efficient with increased heat value, smokeless and are cheaper.

Loan Proposal

I need to purchase a Charcoal Briquettes Machine to increase the production of the charcoal briquettes. This machine costs approximately USD 2000 and is capable of making briquettes from sawdust, leaves amongst other biomas material.

I would like to thank the lenders very sincerely for their kind gesture in lending us the required amounts for fast tracking our initiatives. Many thanks for the previous loan which we used to have the water installed at the Charcoal firm premises. This water installation has come in very handy as our operations are now a little faster with the availability of the water.

Thank you so much for the loan. I will use this amount to have tap water installed at the charcoal briquette plant. This will go along way in increasing production at the plant.

    Many thanks.
    Eric.

Thank you so much lenders for availing funds to ensure the loaning facility is successful. With the previous loan, we managed to purchase more biomass material and also employed one more additional person, by the name Joseph to join our fast growing Charcoal briquette firm.

I received my first loan today via Mpesa. Thanks so much Zidisha administration and all lenders on-board. The application process for Zidisha loan is unbelievably fast and straightforward no hassle, no paperwork! This will be very helpful to small business especially in situations where cash is needed urgently without delays.

With the loan, we managed to get a few more bags of raw material for our charcoal briquette project.

I will recommend this service to a number of individuals in Kenya who have been approaching our NGO for financial support.

    Thanks.

If you have internet access this link is from the Kenyan government. NEMA may have some good information on local resources. You can use much of the same materials that you use to make the briquettes along with food/paper/plant waste. Compost is organic matter that has been decomposed and is usable as soil for planting and growing plants. To put together a plan I'd need to know more about your site and your available resources including time. Essentialliy it is another way that you could recycle biomass.
