About Me

I am Perez Auma, I am the 2nd born in a family of 5 (2 girls and 3 boys). My childhood life was full of hardships as my father died when I was still young and my mother being a peasant farmer could not manage to feed the large family and well and take us to school.

Getting school fee was indeed a dream. I had to do menial jobs to help supplement my mother income. I struggled and managed to complete primary education in 1992, but I did not continue to secondary education due to lack of High School fee.

Having not proceeded to High School, I eventually got married in 1995 and my husband was and is still a small - scale a fisherman with unpredictable income. With our ever enlarging family, I decided to start a small business of selling fresh fish to help in raising funds to meet family needs like food and education of our children. In my free time I do enjoy singing in Church and visiting friends and relatives.

My Business

I am engaged in fresh fish and grains retailing to the local community of Mbita which do experience food shortages annually. With my small business, I am serving upto 100 clients everyday buying essential food like; tomatoes, onions, grains, beans and maize.

With a 2nd loan of Ksh 22,068, I will be able to increase my fresh fish stock and re-sale the fish at a very good price to clients, this will enable me to get increased income to meet my family needs and education fee costs for my two children in High School.

With this loan, I will be able to get a profit of Ksh 2,400 weekly and comfortably re-pay Ksh 1,500 on a weekly basis.

Loan Proposal

With the loan of Ksh 9,034, I will buy 3 bags of grains for cooking and selling to clients that takes their breakfast and lunch at my roadside kiosk in Mbita town. The profit realized from the business will be used to pay the school for my kids. I normally use Ksh 2000 on a daily basis to buy food for cooking and selling at the small food kiosk, with a loan of Ksh 8,034, I will be able to buy enough grains and make a projected profit of Ksh 3,000 per week.

I have tried talking to Perez, and seemingly she is not in a position to resume here repayments but she is positive and know that ZIDISHA is the only place to get support.

    Gladys,
Thank you for all the hard work to contact Perez. Of the eight entrepreneurs that Perez has invited, five are behind in payments. I lent to one of them, David Sagi, who has been unresponsive and paid only two of his weekly payments over many months. I am glad that most of your other invitees have been successful.

    Dear ZidishaTeam,
I was not able to reach Perez Auma. I have called Emaculate Odhiambo (family member), and she said she will try and get in touch with Perez. I have also told her to ask Perez about adjusting her loan or to call me about it.

    Thank You,

ZIDISHA is a big help to entrepreneurs in the developing world. I received my 1st loan of KES 8,134 from ZIDISHA and this money has helped me to buy more stock of food for re-selling. I look forward to repaying the loan on time and as agreed.
