About Me

I'm a Kenyan female adult aged 33 years. I'm married with two children. I live in the coastal region of Kenya. I'm the fourth born in a family of five with my father being a peasant farmer whereas my mother passed on in April 2018. I take care of younger sister and an orphaned nephew alongside my biological children. I went through secondary school with the help of plan international Kenya and bursary from the constituency development fund where I passed my national examinations well and I was called to join Kenyatta university in 2006 to study bachelor of education (science) with the help of students loans from higher education loans board. I'm currently in the teaching profession but due many commitments, the money I earn is not sufficient and so I started a small business.

My Business

I applied for a small loan from a Sacco which I still service to start the business of selling, clothes, slippers, rubber shoes, khangas, socks, earings, necklaces. Later on when i learnt about ZIDISHA I applied for another loan to boost my business. my business journey has not been smooth: I have faced some challenges such as low demand on some goods and some take longer to sale. However, the profit i realise from the sales goes to reinvestment and some to offset some monthly bills. I have taken the business challenge positive and I would wish to continue. Sometimes i sale more in a day around 10000 in peak months, whereas the sales go low or no sale at all in some days. Collectively and on average the sales per week is about 20000 during peak months like December while 10000 on the other months. The profit I realise weekly I use to expand the business partly and some for other expenses; offset bills, fees for children. I have hired one attendant who I also pay sometimes from my pocket especially if the business has not yielded sufficient profits, the reason why I still need to expand my business to have a wide variety of items to cater for the demand of buyers and also improve on the sales.

Loan Proposal

The loan amount will be used to purchase more stock of khangas, shawls, children wear, ladies wear and make partial payment of pending bills

My heartfelt gratitude to my lenders for funding my loan. I used the loan amount to buy new stock of favourite clothes among the coastal people of Kenya and though there were few hitches of illness i was able to press on and stand tall. Thanks for your support

Grateful for funding my previous loan. I had to reschedule repayment due to some hitches of low demand and illness.
Nevertheless, i did not give up and I'm still pressing on. I'm in need of more funding so that I may boost my sustainability amidst Covid-19 and given that i work from home.

Hi my lenders. I'm grateful for funding my loans. My previous loan was used to cater for medical expenses: the reason why it took me longer to repay it. However, I'm now well and I trust that once I add more stock to my business, I will get profit and I will be able to repay on time, thanks
