I was born and raised up in a very poor and rural village of Kadem in Western part of Kenya. I was the 5th born in a family of three boys and two girls.
I did my primary and secondary education ad passed well in final exams. I was employed as a Civil Servant in the Ministry of Health and got retrenched in October, 2000 after serving in the Government for 12 years. I was not given any send-off package! The life thereafter become unbearable and I later lost my wife through death! I am now a widower surviving with 5 children in which 3 are in secondary school.
Chicken is a commodity with high demand in Mbita community. Since the year 2011, I have been involved in selling of chicken to get income to meet family financial obligations. The business has been doing well though I cannot expand to reach break even pint due to lack of capital to enable me keep a stock of birds ( chicken) for re-selling after preparation.
Mbita area is a fishing community and in seasons of January - April there's very good fish catch, and in this times of the year, fishermen do like to eat chicken instead of fish. It's upon this reason that I am looking for loan to expand the business and get a good profit to help me meet my family needs i.e education for my children. In normal circumstances, I do buy chicken worth Ksh 3,000 and re-sell at a cost of Ksh 3,500 therefore making a profit of Ksh 500 per day during the good fish catch seasons. If I get a loan of Ksh 21,000, I will buy 30 chickens, I will be able to make a profit of about Ksh 1,500 per day, this will boost my income and help meet the business operational costs and repay the loan on time.
I am seeking a loan of KES 31,629to enable me buy 100 indigenous to keep for re-selling. KES 6,000 will be used to improve my poultry housing structure for my chicken so as to create more space since I am going to buy new 100 chickens to add on my poultry stock that will enable me to supply my clients consistently and on a timely basis. I will therefore use the balance cash to restock feeds for my young and old chicken. This will be a security and guarantee to realizing the vision I have for my poultry farming.
