My name is sarpomaa Lydia. I am from Bechem. I was born on April 18, 1986. I have finished secondary school but i was not able to continue due to financial predicament. But i am not perturbed because i knew one day, God could open an opportunity for me to shine. Fortunately, after a friend recommended zidisha and the wonderful things that they are doing, i said i have met my saviour this year. I normally enjoy playing toys whenever i am free. Additionally, i also enjoy watching films during my leisure time. I am a business woman now, dealing in sanitary products.

My Business

One of the major challenges facing adolescent girls in my area is how to keep their bodies healthy and tidy. In ghana , the government has even taken upon itself to distribute free sanitary pads to the adolescent girls in some selected basic schools in the country on pilot basis. unfortunately, the programme was brought to an end last year and since, has not been renewed. This has been a problem in my community since some of the adolescent girls do not go to school during their menstrual period. This results a lot of the adolescent girls absenting themselves from school. Lenders, to deal with this challenge, i have chosen to I sell Sanitary pads to the women and especially ,the adolescent girls living in my area. The intention is to assist the adolescent girls to have access to these sanitary materials to prevent them from traveling long distance in look of these materials which come at a cost to them. The pads come indifferent shapes and forms in Ghana. But ones Pads like altra, pretty lady and Royal lady sanitary pads are sold in my shop.

Loan Proposal

Firstly, I want to again, use this opportunity to thank all my lenders and the entire zidisha team for their generous help you have been giving to me. In fact, I am even short of words to express my heartfelt gratitude to my lenders for their continuous assistance. All that I can say is that, may God bless you and grant you long life.
My lenders, schools have reopened and my business is on course. I have been moving from one school to another with my sanitary products and the patronage by my target group that is, the adolescent girls, is very encouraging. My lenders, when I enter a particular school, I first talk to the female teachers for them to educate the girls on the importance of the sanitary products before selling takes place. Therefore ,when I get this loan my lenders, I will use to buy more sanitary products and sell to the adolescent girls at reduced price. This will help minimize the incident of absenteeism among adolescent girls during their menstrial period. The products to be bought include:
Altra pad =$150
Royal Lady=$150
Pretty lady=$100
Adult pampers =$50
Transportation=$40
My lenders, I will use my profit to take care of my family and also pay back my loan on time. Thank you.
