About Me

I am Lawrence Gichuru Muraga from Mitunguu in Imenti South Sub-county of Meru County-Kenya. Born in 1970 at Kionyo in the eastern slopes of Mt Kenya I attended Kionyo Pri Sch. As young boys we played hide and seek, make car toy big enough to carry 4 boys down hill. At Igandene Sec Sch I was chairman Y.C.S for 2 yrs, Scouts T.l and The captain Kiringa House. When I joined Eregi T.T.C i became a member of "Eremus" Eregi Music Society. I am the current Head teacher of D.E.B Mariene Hill Primary Sch. I hold a diploma in Education Management from KEMI and a BED Degree from Kampala International University-Uganda majoring in English and Social studies. I am also a trained T.O. T in ICT integration in education.

My Business

I founded Sterling Learn Services in 2008 to provide educational solutions to rural schools in the lower parts of Meru County and Tharaka . Our office is in Mitunguu Market 14 km from Nkubu Township. We Supply instructional material to schools, offer printing and binding services to schools and members of public. Sterling, as my business is Popularly known also offers computer training to young people.
Being a teacher I, then my choice of business is obvious. The business is in a rented premise which accounts for the highest cost of doing business. We however make profits which are reinvested in the growing business. It is our goal to make Sterling Learn Services a leading provider of Education Solutions in the near future. We have plans to position ourselves well in the market to help i building capacities of Primary Schools as they embark on use of ICT both in classrooms and as a management tool. This we will do at a fee to boost our income. God willing Sterling Learn Services will play its part in helping the children of this country access opportunities that we did not have during our childhood through mentorship programmes .

Loan Proposal

When I get this loan I will first use the money to supply the already received order for printing 10 receipt books and 500 printed envelopes for Muthitwa Sec Sch .This will cost about USD 61.
The remaining amount will be used to replenish my paper and ink stock. This will take about USD 87.
By the time I finish paying for the first loan i will make sure that the money is reinvested to ensure that our shop is connected to internet. This will make us a reliable digital hub.
