About Me

I am Lawrence Gichuru Muraga from Mitunguu in Imenti South Sub-county of Meru County-Kenya. Born in 1970 at Kionyo in the eastern slopes of Mt Kenya I attended Kionyo Pri Sch. As young boys we played hide and seek, make car toy big enough to carry 4 boys down hill. At Igandene Sec Sch I was chairman Y.C.S for 2 yrs, Scouts T.l and The captain Kiringa House. When I joined Eregi T.T.C i became a member of "Eremus" Eregi Music Society. I am the current Head teacher of D.E.B Mariene Hill Primary Sch. I hold a diploma in Education Management from KEMI and a BED Degree from Kampala International University-Uganda majoring in English and Social studies. I am also a trained T.O. T in ICT integration in education.

My Business

I founded Sterling Learn Services in 2008 to provide educational solutions to rural schools in the lower parts of Meru County and Tharaka . Our office is in Mitunguu Market 14 km from Nkubu Township. We Supply instructional material to schools, offer printing and binding services to schools and members of public. Sterling, as my business is Popularly known also offers computer training to young people.
Being a teacher I, then my choice of business is obvious. The business is in a rented premise which accounts for the highest cost of doing business. We however make profits which are reinvested in the growing business. It is our goal to make Sterling Learn Services a leading provider of Education Solutions in the near future. We have plans to position ourselves well in the market to help i building capacities of Primary Schools as they embark on use of ICT both in classrooms and as a management tool. This we will do at a fee to boost our income. God willing Sterling Learn Services will play its part in helping the children of this country access opportunities that we did not have during our childhood through mentorship programmes .

Loan Proposal

When I get this loan I will first use the money to supply the already received order for printing 10 receipt books and 500 printed envelopes for Muthitwa Sec Sch .This will cost about USD 61.
The remaining amount will be used to replenish my paper and ink stock. This will take about USD 87.
By the time I finish paying for the first loan i will make sure that the money is reinvested to ensure that our shop is connected to internet. This will make us a reliable digital hub.

Hi lenders and my dear friends. Following the bad road accident that I got on my way from work last year, I sustained terrible injuries. the worst was head injuries that according to my doctor I have miraculously survived. I have successfully undergone a surgery to save my brain from permanent damage and I am recovering well. Although with some strain , I have now started to remember my past and I hope soon I will be fully recovered.
The accident has left me with no money and I am hoping that when all is well I will be able to do something that can give me money so that I can pay the many debt I owe friends including Zindisha.
I humbly ask you all to pray for me so that I overcome the situation I am in now. Life has many challenges that help us to live well with the others. Thank you for the understanding.

    To my lenders.
Thank you so much for funding us. The loan of Ksh 17752 has been received and today we have made our first delivery to our customer, Mugwi Secondary School. We have supplied to them Printed Exercise books worth 14,000 for use by student when the schools open On 4th May. We thank you for making this possible. We have also serviced our equipment and all the printing and branding was done at our office . Although we are yet to receive the check from the school we are sure to make a good profit due to lower cost. We intend to repay this loan in a record short period so that we can set new targets and ensure faster growth. Once again, your trust in Sterling Learn Services is highly appreciated. Here the rains are on and in a few weeks we shall be eating green maize beans and grams. Thank you and May the almighty bless you.

We can see far beyond the horizons not because we are tall but because we stand on the back of the giants. I now close after the days work. My wife and I received a refrigerator from Coca cola today. We have stocked Coca cola soft drinks and now our customers and visitors will get their favourite drinks as they wait to be served. This was my wives idea and I support it for it will generate some income for our business.

When I took my students for an educational tour of Olpajeta Conservancy in Laikipia- Kenya, we had a lot to learn as we observed the fauna and flora. The pictures I took shall be used when printing calendars for my customers. However i wish to share a few with the Zidisha family and in particular watch for the one that i have branded. To a baboon, the welfare of the baby is paramount. To Zidisha NURTURING young business is the end. Sterling will grow stronger and stronger with your support. Kindly lend us to meet our target as per our proposal. There are only three days to go but i strongly believe we shall make it.

I have completed paying my first loan. The funds have been a great boost to Sterling Learn Services. The money was received promptly. I thank my lender for trusting us and accepting to fund our business. I look forward to receiving your support as i apply for the next loan.
Offering education solutions remains our line of business. I also thank my customers who are the consumers of our products and services for their support.
For those behind the killing of about 147 University students in Garrisa - Kenya, their cowardice , immoral and criminal act is strongly condemned. For Christians, Easter is a time to reflect on self and how positively you have contributed to the welfare of humanity. Happy Easter.

In a weeks time I complete paying my loan. The loan came at the right time and I was able to service the orders I had with ease. This has put Sterling Learn Services in a better position . The earnings were ploughed back into business. This is why we adjusted our repayment amount upwards.
I February my son joined High School after doing well in primary. Yesterday the rains started we are praying hard that wet enough. Here everything revolves on small scale farming. Good harvest means good business and the other way round. The children I teach are planning to visit Olpajeta Conservancy during the holiday for one day. It will be great fun to see the BIG FIVE in the jungle.
