About Me

I was born in Western province to Jackson Wafula and Elemina Wafula of Siloba village. They raised me and 3 other brothers and four sisters through sheer hard work.
We grew up walking miles, barefoot to the nearest primary school,Siritanyi primary school where i worked hard and managed to pass my national exams after eight years of primary school.I later joined St Anthonys secondary school and my parents who were racked by years of toil struggled to pay my school fees on and off until i finally did my exams.I was constantly sent away from school for lack of fees and sometimes at home they had stretched themselves to the point of lacking food at times. However i managed to pass my exams although because of lack of fees and the need to educate the others i managed to join college a few years later after high school. The experience i had growing strengthened my resolve to make it in life asi remember the single bowl of porridge we grew up sharing in the evenings under a tin lamp of kerosene.

My Business

I started a barbershop immediately after high school, and helped my parents educate my brothers and sisters from the proceeds earned.I usually give haircuts at 25 US cts and charge half of that for childrens haircuts.I also do blowdrying for womens hair but have need of my own blowdrier to do the service without hiring one from a neighbor at 1$ per client i serve.I also charge mobile phones at the back of my single room barbershop as many people here do not have electricity in their homes. In a day i usually make around 16$ in a month having paid off rent at 6$ each month. This barbershop has enabled me to buy my own plot of land in which i grow maize and beans and educate my two boys and one girl.

Loan Proposal

The money given I will buy shaving machines at $50 due to high demand of clients to be shaved are more forcing them to have a long queuing. I will also wish to buy chairs at $9 for the customers to seat on while shaving. These will improve my living standard because I will serve more customers at a time and by having seats for them to sit while waiting. These will increase my earnings per day. I will also offer job opportunities to others searching employment thus improving the status of the community. My profit will increase at $5
