About Me

My name is Carolyne Jerono, living in Busia County, Kenya. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. I was employed at a local company and, after a few months of employment, I came up with an idea of saving and starting my own business in order to boost my monthly income.

I run a boutique business specializing in children’s clothes. My business is doing well and I need some additional capital to boost it owing to high demand for my products in my area. I also plan to diversify to M-pesa [mobile money transfer] business in the near future.

My Business

My boutique business is in line with my career of business management, having well understood sales and marketing from experience from my employment. I chose to start this business in order to boost my income and living standard. I also plan to diversify to include M-pesa business to get extra and consistent income.

I ventured into this business in the year 2014 in Busia town from savings of my salary. Due to a steady rise in demand, I was forced to increase my stock recently. But I still need more stock for my business in order to meet the demand and maximize revenue.

I would like to thank Zidisha for the loan of $200 USD that I completed paying on the 3rd of March. It really boosted my business.

Loan Proposal

Hi lenders. First I want to thank you for helping me raise funds for my previous loans, which helped me a great deal to expand my boutique business. My boutique is now doing well, and I really thank all the lenders for being part of the success. Part of it also went to my tuition fees for a Masters Program in Business Administration, and I am now done with my first semester.

I kindly request for another loan to fund my next project, sheep rearing business as I try to diversify my businesses. Of the new loan funds, Kes 30,000 will go towards purchasing 7 sheep, and Kes 15,000 to fence the farm and construct a small shed for the flock. The rest of the loan will help me pay part of my next semester's school fees.

Thanks again to the Zidisha family.

Best, Carolyne

Carolyne has repaid the full loan with diligence. Although some payments were slightly late, many were paid ahead of schedule and she was clearly taking responsibility for her loan. I'd be very happy to lend to her again.

Because of a not paying customer Wendy wasn’t able to repay the last few payments on time. But because of the neat explanation I’am still very positive about this lending experience.
