About Me

My name is Joseph gathogo wanjiru I was born in1985 at viwandani in kaptembwa in Nakuru county I joined koinange primary school and later lanet sec ondary school for my secondary education. After school I tarmacked for 2 years before i got employment this was because my parents could not afford to take to a college.however i was later employed by various employers for many years until 2011 when I decided to start self employment. With my little savings I started a cooking Gas outlet in Gilgil town. I look forward to grow my business with zidisha platform.

My Business

My business is specialized in selling cooking gas which is usually sold in cylinders here in Kenya. I started this kind of business after I realized there is great demand for this commodity in the urban town of gilgil. I normally collect my gas from big distributors who are located as far as the city of Nairobi who also arrange for the transport to my place this makes my commodity cheaper than those of my competitors hence giving a better bargain to my customers. The proceeds I get from my business are well sustainable because I am able to pay for my house rent, government taxes and salaries to my 2 workers. I am also able to meet the up keep to my immediate family I was also able to purchase a plot where I am planning to build my own house. The only challenge I face is luck enough capital to stock a lot of Gas to meet the demand. With zidisha platform such challenges will be a thing of the past.

Loan Proposal

Thank you all my lenders. my first loan was very helpful to by business i was able to increase the number of gas cylinders from different companies to meet my customers demand. this second loan , i will also stock gas in small cylinders to meet the demand of small income earners this will increase my profit and i expect to record a good growth in my business by the end of this year. God bless you all.

Thanks again to you all my lenders for accepting to fill my bid in time. As I explain earlier I will spend the entire USD 200 to restock my gas out let with 3kilogramme cylinders which is very popular among my customers. This will guarantee me of staying afloat during this time of economic hardship here in Kenya after the election I hope things will get back to normal and it will be business as usual. God bless you all.

I take this opportunity to thank all my lenders for your continued co-opertion and support, before joining zidisha I was operating on very little capital which could sustain my business but today I enjoy the benefit and previlages of being a member to this platform. My business is doing well and I have been able to grow it from a small micro- enterprise to a middle income one, this would not have been possible without your support. Indeed you have never failed to fund my bids in time. Once again Thanks to you all.

i am currently experiencing low business turn over due to low cooking gas supplies from major oil companies here in Kenya, however, when the supply resumes to normal i will still adjust my payments upwards.

    Hi Joseph,
Great to see that you are doing well and always repaying on time.
In fact, if I could make a recommendation...
If you are finding it easy to make the current repayments, you might want to consider rescheduling to pay the loan off early.
That way you could save interest!!!
As I am sure you know, that is always a good business outcome.
    All the best
    Michael.

Welcome to Zidisha. It is good that you are expanding your business. Sometimes cooking gas cannot be found, at any price. Your customers will be happy. I hope that soon you will see enough profits to build a home for you and your family.

Best wishes for health for your family and continuing success in your business, Ann (namaste250)
