About Me

I finished my o levels in the year 2011 last year. I managed to join the university pursuing degree in Business management. During daytime I operate my business and I attend part time classes in the evening after my sister arrives from work so that she can operate till 9pm.
Currently I operate a kiosk whereby I sell brand household goods, M-pesa and co-operative agent.
I actually pray that my loan if approved I will manage to expand my business, increase stock as well as increase my monthly income.
Thanks in advance.

My Business

About business income
In my business I do sell household goods like bread, milk, wheat four etc and I operate M-pesa as well as agent of co-operative bank. My monthly sales goes to Ksh.60000 and these mostly depends on the amount of capital invested on. I normally ensure costs of up to 20,000 inclusive of monthly purchases (stocks) since am the manager of my own shop. I ensure that I reduce cost as much as I can.
Daily I make over Ksh. 4000 sales and on weekends it can go up to Kshs. 6000 and over the. I would like to purchase and increase more stock as I opt to expand my business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much for activating my profile.I will now use the loan to add more float to my Mpesa and increase the working capital.these will allow me to serve my clients without much constrain.
I will ensure that i honor my agreement with Zidisha micro finance and pay my loan promptly.
The commissions will increase with the increase of the working capital.
Thank you and be all blessed.

Doreen, please tell us what is going on! Has Zidisha been wiling to reschedule? Even if you feel insulted by some comments. You are expected to communicate and to inform investors when you are going to resume your payments! If you do so, investors might understand your situation. If you don't communicate, we will think you are a thief, which we hope you are not. Are you?

    Hello Doreen,

I am a lender on Zidisha and happened upon this discussion on your profile page.
I also had the same problem when I first signed up for the forum. I got an
error that said “you have insufficient privileges.” All borrowers and lenders
are allowed to post of the forum. It is just a computer error that can be
easily fixed. You are most welcome to participate. You just need to send an
email to [email protected] with your
information and the username you signed up with on the forum.

My sympathies for the loss of your mom. No matter what
country we live in no one is immune from sadness and loss in life.

I wish you much success and hope the sun will shine for you
    again soon.

Yes. And looking at the repayment schedule, I would never have guessed that this is a second reschedule. I'm also wondering how the loan
progression went from $102 for the 1st loan to $492 for this one.
And that Ms. Ntabo has no mentor to give her advice.
    Forwarding to staff for comments.

    Ms. Ntabo,

I see that you have rescheduled your loan for a second time. When you advertised your loan to be funded your repayment schedule stated you would pay it off in 45 weeks. You later rescheduled and increased that to 105 weeks. Today, March 10, you rescheduled to 245 weeks. That is almost 5.5 times longer to repay your loan than your original time frame.

I am in favor of borrowers being allowed to reschedule, but I would like to understand why such a drastic increase. You did not provide us with an explanation as to why you needed to reschedule and specifically why it needed to be over such an extended period of time.

I would appreciate it if you could help us understand your reasoning.

    Thank you,
    Cris

      Dear

      cris

      i
truly respect you and the how you have funded me but i suggest today i
was really offended!your comments are not actually harsh but some how heartbreaking and i need to open my heart.today
i was shocked to find my self being mentioned in a the forums something
i didnt know.sure when i rescheduled my loan it doesn't mean i am not
paying don't you even see its the sytem ?i cannot reschedule without
explain and i cant even see what i wrote once more.I would like to point
out that its up to Zidisha to decide the credit limit i did not invite
any one and during my application there were no invite privileges and
see how some lenders just put that i invited so many borrowers,is it
really fair to talk ill of some one?Zidisha tells us i can reschedule
the loan though i explained yet i cant see it.THESE does not mean i will
keep paying ks,355 no i can still reverse back and reshedulle even in
less period than before.you can imagine i losed my mum and despite
these i reschedule to anable me pay a Little as i come back to normal
just to get all these in forums.I believe my tear i am shedding only one
person is understanding and feels the pain inside me.
i do not have any courage to pay but i will took to zidisha if possible to pay some lenders first.
      i
do not have any rights on forums to repply a thread but i fill offened
yet these these issues you can email zidisha rather display on over
      millions of people out there,

        Ms. Ntabo,

I am very sorry if you feel offended. That was not my intention at all. Please keep in mind that the comments on the forum to which you refer were made by several people. I am absolutely sure I never said anywhere that I expected you (or the other loan I mentioned) not to repay. If that was posted on the forum it was by someone else. I am also 100% sure I did not mention anything about the way Zidisha determines credit limits nor did I ever say that you invited a lot of people to join Zidisha. In a separate post I did say that there are some borrowers (no names given) that invite a lot of people they don't know. In fact, I don't think you've invited anyone. I see that you are hurt and offended, but please read the forums again to determine exactly who said what.

It is not in my nature to offend people. Unfortunately, there has been some abusive behavior by some borrowers in the past regarding several different issues. Lenders have of late been quite frustrated. The forum is a place where both lenders and borrowers can express their opinions. If you do not have privileges to post on the forum it is probably because there is a glitch in the system. I, myself, was not initially allowed to post on the forum. I know that Eric Otieno had the same problem. What you need to do is send [email protected] an email requesting they grant you posting privileges.

Do not get me wrong, I am not against a borrower being allowed to reschedule - I think rescheduling is actually a good thing. However, you have rescheduled twice since you took out your loan which initially had a loan term of 45 weeks. You then rescheduled to 105 and then yesterday you rescheduled to 265. I was just stating facts. To a lender, it is a very frustrating when there is such a lengthening of a loan with no explanation as to why or what your future plans for repayment might be. Looking at your loan page, I do not see any communication from you since you took out your second loan.

I'm not quite sure I understood in your posting above, but did you say you just lost your mom? If that is the case, I am truly sorry and certainly sorry for the timing of my inquiry.

Please remember that lenders are, for the most part, quite flexible and understanding as long as there is communication. As for citing your loan (and someone else's) as an example of some rescheduling issues, I'm sorry that upset you. I did not mean to single you out. If I had the time and the wherewithal I am sure I'd be able to find other similar examples throughout Zidisha.

Again, I am very sorry you were hurt and offended.

        Cris
