About Me

My names are Kimathi Mugambi. I am married with one handsome boy, Lewis, one year old. I live in Githurai 45, in Nairobi County, Kenya. I am an Information Technology profession at Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS), one of Kenya’s leading middle level college. I have a Diploma from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Multimedia University(formerly known as Kenya College of Communications Technology (KCCT)) and also a Fellow of the Engineering Council of England.
I have a passion in agriculture with a bias in poultry since childhood. That is what has lead me to start a poultry farm.

My Business

Hello, Zidisha Lenders, With the 60 layers that i secured with my first loan plus the prevoius 6 hens and 3 cocks plus new stock I got now Theosoft poultry farm has got 200 hens and 25 cocks, With high demand to supply more eggs to neighbours and shops in my area kiosks and incubation centers who want fertilized egg for incubation. I currently have a demand that I can not even effectively meet since my current supply per week now 600 eggs but this will change once the I can increasing my stock .

Loan Proposal

Hello, Zidisha Lenders, Theosoft poultry farm has got 200 hens and 25 cocks, I have received numerous request to supply more eggs to neighbors and shops in my area who would like to start their own egg selling kiosks and incubation centers whom want fertilized egg for incubation. I currently have a demand that I cannot effectively meet since my current supply per week now 600 eggs . The amount I'm currently charging KES 12 per egg has enabled me to save up and together with my savings I have about kshs 90,000 ($1000). However for me to prepare a ready market for my poultry farm eggs and to enlarge it's market supply, I need extra cash to enable me to buy more eggs from other farms and supply them to my customer in order to have a steady supply of eggs to them as I wait for my farm to reach it's full production capacity. The quotations I have managed to source require me to have at least kshs 300,000 ($3335). I therefore need around kshs 210,000 ($2330) to get the egg trays, shelfs to stock the eggs, transport fee of eggs and buying price of eggs from other farms in bulk. With the 2500 egg capacity per day and me charging kshs 12 ( per egg, it will provide me with about Kshs 30,000 every week.
1. Buy 2000 eggs three times per week @ kshs 8.5 =kshs 51,000
2. Buy eggs packing trays for different size 30,12.and 6 pack tray kshs 8,000
3. Transport cost for eggs from other farms to Theosoft farm packaging area per week kshs 4,500 @ kshs 1,500 per trip

    Hello,

I only recently discovered your loan profile. There are so many loans fundraising at the moment. Some people have had to repost their loan many times before they raised their full amount. I hope you will not be discouraged.
You could try posting some more photos of your farm. I like the profile photo you have, but maybe you might want to try using a profile photo of you in your farm that is really eye catching.
If the photo stands out in the list of loans maybe more lenders will open to read more about your business,

    Hello Kimathi,

I was sad to hear your loan application had expired for the second time. This was probably due to the fact that your last loan application was posted just before the maximum interest was raised from 5% to 15%, which might have attracted lenders to other loans with a higher interest for them.

Hopefully you won't be discouraged by this and will try to get your loan funded again, since you were a very reliable borrower the first time around!

Hopefully you'll be able to get another loan funded, so that you can pursue the dreams you have for Theosoft Poultry.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Hedwich
