I am faith bonaya aged 26 and born in a family of 9, five brothers and four sisters. I am a self employed business woman running a boutique in collaboration with my mother in Gilgil town at delta. We usually source our stock in the neighboring countries like Tanzania and Uganda where commodities are fairly cheaper than buying them locally. It all started when my mother used to leave me incharge of the business whenever she went to buy stock since it would take her three working days to shop and come back. She used to find the business in good condition and a number of sales made with a written record, so she asked me to be her business partner of which i agreed and ever since, i have been saving my profit share to increase stock and expand our business. I love reading fashion magazines, traveling and socializing.
I run a boutique and salon business which i co own with my mother. The business is located at Gilgil town delta area. We make a monthly profit of $400. $100 is put back to business i.e to add more stock,$ 100 is spent in rent and other expenses, and we are left with $200 which we share halfway whereby my mother and i pocket $100 each. the main challenge is during low peak season whereby due to lack of enough capital, we are forced to reduce the amount allocated to increase the business stock and instead use it to settle other expenses like transport and rent which are necessary for smooth running of the business. with the help of Zidisha loan, i will be able to add more stock and refurbish my business premises.
