About Me

My name is Samuel Lukama. I live in zambia. I grew up at farm with my parents. I learnt a lot of things at the farm such that am making a living out of the things i learnt at the farm.I did my primary and secondary education with my sister. I finished school and wanted to become a medical doctor but my parents couldnt afford. So since my parents became old i started to concentrate at the farm and overcame many challenges. I support my sister in college. One day i will do medicine. My father gave me 5 hectares at the farm and thats how i started my farming business. I am not yet married. My hobby is doing community work.

My Business

My farming business i grow variety of plants at the farm such as maize and beans which i sell at nearby markets. Everyone needs to eat so everything i grow and cultivate has demand. I chose this business because i have so much passion for farming. Usually i put in about ZMW5000 when i plant maize and when i sell i make profit which i buy food at home for my parents and support my sister in college and do save some money.

Loan Proposal

I am hereby applying for a loan from Zidisha . I am a farmer and I like growing maize, vegetables and onion I have a big market I actually supply a number of markets on a daily basis. With this I intend to buy fertiisers for my vegetable field. I grow a variety of vegetables and customers have already made orders. SO once I receive the loan I will buy fertilisers and anything else needed for my farm. Once I sell I make good profit and I buy groceries and also contribute to pay school needs for my young sister in college so this loan will help me a lot.

Income Source

Apart from selling vegetables and onions and beans at the farm I also do part-time training to upcoming farmers especially elderly people here who want to into farming after retiring I help them to have knowledge in farming and they pay for the training I conduct. The other source of income is I belong to a number of network platforms mainly on business where we contribute money per month then share out after 6 months. This one helps me a lot so even if I have a problem with my farms products maybe lack of market I still have something else to rely upon so I cant fail to pay.
