My name is Selina Addea born and bread at Gumani, Tamale. I was born into a family of three (3) where we toiled with our parents to make the family/house comfortable and a place of survival through peasant farming.
Although things were not smooth, my parents have education at heart so they sent us to school. I have attended Gumani Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High School (JHS) all in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale.
After my JHS however, I furthered my secondary education at the Accra Girls Senior High School (AGISS) where I studied Generals Arts (Languages Option).
After Senior high School, there was no money to further my tertiary education so I went back to assist my parents so as to gather some money to open a small cosmetics shop (perfumes to be precise).
Summarily, one year after assisting my parents on the farms (Maize, Groundnut and Rice) I was able to accumulate USD 498.78 or GHS 2,000.00 as capital to start my business.
I operate a cosmetic shop in the heart of Tamale where I sell perfumes of different brands including Pure Red (my favourite), Executives, Explorer, Victory among others.
My target market is the work class (Bankers, Doctors, Nurses, Accountants, Lawyers, Teachers and other corporate staffs). This is because, they always want to "smell good" so their demands for the these items or goods.
I purchase some of my goods from Togo, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire and the rest from Accra, Ghana. Just as any business individual incurs costs, I also incur cost for transporting and running the business so as to fulfill the going concern principle of business(Accounting).
I also use part of the profit for reinvestment into the business whiles I save the remaining towards a building project.
I wish to request for a loan of USD14(GHS60.00) to buy one gallon of paint to paint some new shelves I have bought for my perfume. This humble request is being made because, there has been increasing demands on my goods/items of the past two months so I am being put in a tight corner to add more shelves to better serve my numerous customers.
