About Me

My names are Margaret Ngatia, I am married, a mother of two. I live in Subukia. I own a Milk outlet dealing with fresh milk and other milk products. I underwent the 8.4.4 education system in Kenya and upon completion of my KCSE I went to College and undertook a course in Dairy Management. I am a member of Visions Women group and also actively participate in our Catholic church choir. I interact well with others and like helping the need in whatever way that I can. Besides being a business person, I like reading inspiration materials.

My Business

I have a milk shop called Subukia Dairies where I sell both fresh, fermented milk and other milk products in Subukia Town, Nakuru County.I buy milk from farmers in the neighbourhood who deliver the milk personally, I also have individuals whom I have contracted to deliver the milk to me from places that are far. The cost of buying the milk is much lower and most farmers prefer me because I pay them on weekly basis and others I pay the cash upon delivery. I also choose this business because I observed the market gap that was there because my main competitor is a nearby SACCO which was not efficient dealing with farmers. I am also strategically placed in a busy terminus with large inflow and outflow of people. I have bee in this business for the last two years and have acquired enough experience on the market trends. With this business, I have been able to put through my kids in school and also taken care of my family needs.

Loan Proposal

With my Zidisha loan, I want to have a facelift of my business so that it appears a new brand. Branding is important in business and I want to rebrand so as to be in touch with changing market trends and customer taste. This will include outward appearance and this will be done through painting. And to the inside, I want to have a change in the layout. This will include changing carpets and furniture. The cost of rebranding outside will cost around USD30, and to the inside it will be approximately USD 80. I understand that I might not be able to raise the total amount of money required for facelift but am ready to top up the remaining amount. With this facelift, I will be able to retain my current customers and also attract new ones. With increased customers, I will be able to increase my sales.

Hello, I've just spoken to Margaret and she's told me she's really struggling to adjust her repayments to less than Kshs. 1000 because the amount she's being asked to repay weekly is too high for her at the moment.

I've advised her to try and make payments of what she has as we try and engage zidisha team and see if it's possible to have borrowers repayment amount reduced to whatever amount one has.
