My name is Matthew Teye Chareetey. I am 45 years old, married with four children. Two boys and two girls. The oldest is 11 year and the youngest is two year old. My father was a fisherman and my mother was a peasant farmer. I completed secondary schoolin the 1993. After secondary school I enter university of Ghana agriculture training center where I studied poultry farming, piggery, crop farming etc,
I therefore choose poultry and piggery as career and this is what I have been doing for the past fourteen years.
I am in to poultry and piggery farming a business I have been doing for the past fourteen years. I have four workers who I paid monthly salary. In the year 2010, I was the best piggery farmer in my district.
It's my plan to buy more birds, feed and drugs, during festivities, Christmas, Easter, local festivals, demand for poultry and poultry products are of high.
The project has potential to employ about ten permanent staffs and additional workers.
This is help me invest in my poultry farm business
1. To purchase feed @ $ 160
2. Day old chicken @ $ 100
3. Drugs, vitamin @ $ 90
4. Payment of water, light 70
In all a total of $ 420 to invest in my poultry farm business
Even though coronavirus (COVID-19) have been recorded in Ghana about three weeks ago, it's only recorded in the capital town Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and not in the central region where I operate my poultry farm. There have been a lock down of the capital city Accra and Kumasi. Therefore, there is great demand of crates of egg in my region, the central region where I operate my poultry farm. Individuals coming to my farm gate in demand of crates of egg is high. I am also ensuring a very hygienic practice in my farm to ensure that my farm and workers are safe and that we can work hard to ensure smooth repayment of the loan.
Thank you.
