About Me

I am aged 26years. A Kenyan by nationality, living in nakuru county.I did my o level in 2006 then joined National youth service school of catering where I did food and beverage production service and sales craft level. I did my first job at Samburu simba lodge for 1year 4 months, having acquired skill in the hotel industry and seeing good potential in establishing my own business in the same field, I quit the job and started a fast food outlet which am operating till now. I use my earnings from the business to purchase better equipment i.e fridge, oven, microwave in order to satisfy the increasing demand of my customers. The remaining amount caters for my personal needs like food, clothing and shelter. The rest of my savings goes to education to advance my knowledge. I am currently pursuing a diploma in food production and hotel management.

My Business

The business has been doing good although some challenges i.e.Inadequate capital to improve my business.Equipment shortage e.g better oven, microwaves, gas cooker etc that will help me improve the quality of my food These are the 2 major challenges that am facing currently. I humbly request for a loan in order to work on the mentioned challenge s to meet my target and meet my demand to my customers , i make around 20000sh to 25000sh in a month, am focused and working hard to gain more experience and also to enlarge to a reliable business.

Loan Proposal

Dear Zidisha lenders

It's my pleasure to inform you that through your help with the first loan, my business income has increased hence i was able to repay my loan in full before schedule. Am looking forward to do the same with my second loan of($150) which i intend to add to my savings of ($200) and purchase a good quality refrigerator with a freezer worth $349.This will help me avoid loss due to quick perishability of products like milk, vegetables and fruit juice by keeping them in the frige. It will also aid to serve my customers with cool cold softdrinks which is in great demand hence i will satisfy my customers. Therefore i humbly ask of your assistance in funding my second loan.

Thank you!

Thank you Grace for your work in following this up. Let us know if there is any more news. It is worrying that James seems to have provided incorrect information about his contacts.
      Best wishes

    Dear Lenders!
    I have been calling James for the past three days to no avail until i started calling the contacts he has given. I called every one of them and this is what i found out;
    1. Mary Mwangi who is listed as the community leader is says she doesnt know James and that her name is not Mary.
    2. Eustus Gakuu listed as a relative seems to know James so well and says he is out of the country probably in Sudan. He is confident that James will pay his loan without a problem. I asked him to find his contacts in Sudan so that we can communicate with him to know whats happenning!
    3. Vigiani Wanjiku listed as a relative says she is not his relative but a friend. She knows him but doesnt know his wherebouts nor his current contacts.
    4. Simon Wamugunda listed as a rwlative says he is not called Simon and he doesnt know James at all.
    5. Keneth Kandie listed as a neighbor relocated to a different town and doesn't know James wherebouts but he promised to find out from other friends and report if he gets his new contacts.
    6. Charles Kivia listed as a neighbor was not available on phone after numerous attempts.
    7. Robert Gakuo listed as a neighbor was not available either and his number is currently out of service.
Thats what i found out after contacting every one of his contacts.

    Hi lenders.
Despite of challenges resulting from inflation and instability of the Kenyan currency my business is now peaking after a low season hence the positive reschedule of my loan to larger installments. I expect better returns especially because we are heading to the festive season and it highly favors the hotel industry. I have great confidence in my brother on running the business as i seek other opportunities to get more capital to expand my venture. He has managed the business since February 2015. However i make sure that i visit him once in two months to be updated about the business and offer my support. The income from the business helps cater for my family needs including that of my brothers. I am able to pay school fees for two of my siblings as well, thanks to Zidisha.

    Dear lenders,
The business is back on track since i have returned from Somali land and am fully in charge of its operation. I found everything intact thanks to my relatives that i had left in charge of running the restaurant. I am positive that i will reschedule my repayment to higher installment.

    Regards.

Thank-you for the update. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. It's nice that you can rely on your family to take care of the restaurant while you are away. What took you to Somalia?

Hello Mr. Nyaguthii, I hope that you are well. Thank-you for your advanced repayment, and even more important, for explaining that you will need a few weeks to start seeing benefit from this, your new loan. Have you been able to secure the rent of the extra space yet?

Hi Zidisha lenders, thank you so much for your help with my third loan. I am requesting you to understand that i need more time to make good use of the money and generate some profit for me to be comfortable to repay my installments and at the same time improve my business . I requested zidisha team to give me one month grace period but they told me that they only offer a one week grace period, and advised me to reschedule my repayments.

I want to retain a 100% repayment record, so at the moment this is what i can afford. I will reschedule again soonest when the business will be at peak.

    Thank you.

Hello James, I just couldn't let your loan application expire. The amount needed was way over my usual share, but I think you deserve this chance.
