About Me

I was born in the Kiungwani Ukambani area of Makueni County 22 years ago, where I also grew up. I am married with one daughter.

I started my studies for primary school at a local school called Kiungwani Primary School. While in class four at the same school, my father retired at an early age due the retrenchment programme that was being carried out by the government of the day back then. This really brought a lot of miseries, as I had to transfer to another school where I could get low fees. Remember, by then there was nothing like free primary education like now. But I thank God I managed to complete my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and garnered 263 marks.

I joined a nearby Kiungwani High school where I completed my form four level and attained a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a C Plain. Due to lack of money as I mentioned above, I could not manage to go to college but resolved to become an entrepreneur.

My Business

I trained in beauty therapy and therefore started a business that deals with beauty and cosmetics. I do salon work, sell beauty cosmetics, and perform hair dressing in my area of residence. I started this kind of business because my husband promised to help me with some small capital to start with, and hence I developed a passion for it.

I currently get at least 7 customers a day for hairdressing and earn 400 Kes ($4 USD) per client multiplied by seven, which is not bad to save and buy other materials. I also sell cosmetics, which brings in some cash. The total daily earnings from this business is around 7,000 Kes ($71 USD), so it's a worthy business.

Loan Proposal

First let me take this opportunity to thank my lenders and the Zidisha organization at large for how far you have brought me.

If given the loan, I will use it to purchase a plot for building rental houses. Due to the research I did as I was moving along the Kitengela area, I found that plots are also a good and long-lasting investment to venture into compared to other types of business like the transport sector.

The cost of the plot (size 50 by 100) ranges between 100,000 kes ($980) - 150,000kes ($1,470), according to the research I did. Given the loan, I will add the remaining amount from my business savings. The expenditure breakdown is as follows:

Total cost of the plot - 120,000kes ($1,170)
Expected loan - 60,000 kes ($585)
Amount to add from savings - 60,000kes ($585)
Total amount = 120,000 kes ($1,170)

By doing this, it will help me to build rental houses and also my own premise. Through this, I will boycott rent expenditure and secure a long-lasting income generation from rental houses. This will increase my income generation by 70%. Please, my lenders, find time and look at my proposal. Thanks in advance. God bless you.
