About Me

I'm Silas Maina from ilala village, western part of Kenya. I'm the last born in a family of six children. I cleared my Secondary education in 2019 and and decided to venture into farming activities. Farming is the main source that is sustaining my life. I love growing crops and keeping chicken.

My Business

My main source of income is from keeping of chicken and growing of vegetables for local consumption in my area. Since joining Zidisha I earn 40 USD per week from my business. The profit I pocket per week is 17.5 USD per week, this profit helps me in expanding my business and supporting my life together with my family.

Loan Proposal

I will purchase cereals worth 10 usd, one hen worth 4 usd, the remaining 6 usd will go for labour on the farm. After one week my income will increase by 4 usd.

Income Source

I do manual work and I'm paid wages per day,I make bricks for my neighbours, work in plantations before coming to my own project. Per day I earn 3.5 usd but sometimes the amount varies depending with the kind of job and its availability. When my project bring low income I can subsidize the repayment from my other source of income.
