Am beryl Hilda waka .I was born and grew up and live in Busia town. I schooled at st. Matthias high school.
after school I started a business of selling cereals from farming homes and selling them to at the market on my own .the business to help me and my mother to keep life going on .from these business I have been able to pay may fees since my mother has been having a challenge of life.i was able to start business from my small pocket money had saved plus the support from my mother and the soft loan got from my uncles I started these while I was in form 4.
I started the business with ksh.15,000 which I started t with 4 sucks of maize at 2,500 I did these at Matayos market .after school I had raised enough money that I was able to get to town and secured a place Busia market . I had a lot of customers that encourage me and know am proud because I know by maize from Kenya and sell in Uganda market.
Currently I have a stock worth 100,000 which is so impressive to me which has give the hopes of getting these loan to so as to increase my stock.
I started the business so as to create job opportunity after school and to be able support my family. I I buy and sell cereals from Kenya to Uganda sofia . my office located at the border at busia communication house on grown flow the last door.
I sell maize, beans and green grams .The demand is high the fact that Busia is situated in Kenya Uganda border so most of my customers are those who want to cross the border especially those who clear the vehicles and these their people who works here in town.
My business is profitable because I have so many customers so the more I serve the more i earn especially those from schools . The challenge am facing is just lack of capital to expand my business the demand is high than I have. and also to get a bigger store for my goods.
My monthly usage is as follows KES 60,500 transport ,KES 500,000 for the stock and 200, 000 for other expenceses like buying sucks .profit ranges from KES 40,000-45,000 per month. The loan i will used to modify my business and its the business that will repay the loan. And with these I will be able to support myself and family with less stress.
Since at the momment the price maize is down to ksh 2500 and its expected to rise by 50% by Aprill.I want to stock fifteen bags of maize so that come aprill 2014 i will be able to sell them at higher price and make good profit that will enable me earn good return to be able to repay my loan with no problem and be left with something little to support myself.Last i wish to thank you so much for your last support and may God bless you.
