About Me

I am a graduate with commerce degree and a 24-year-old Kenyan lady. I was born in a family of four, a setup that has shaped my personality to like working with people and to care for others. I have a strong passion for business and a strong desire to empower women and youth, a dream I believe I will fulfill through my business.

My passion for business can be traced back to as early as high school, when I presented the best business proposal in the Junior Achievement club competition and the divisional level. I am highly environmentally conscious and have taken part in various environmental management programs in various capacities.

Since I was brought up in a male-dominated society, I have also developed a keen interest in empowering the girl child and the less fortunate in the society.

My Business

When in my second year in university, I realised there was a serious problem of garbage collection and disposal. This is because waste collection and disposal was then purely the affair of the local authorities. I saw an opportunity in the environment and started a garbage collection and disposal business. The business that started as a clean-up project saw a lot of appreciation, which made me invest more in the business venture.

Currently, the business operates at a cost of USD 700 and generates an after-tax profit of USD 300 on average per month. The business has three full-time employees and 10 casual employees who help in garbage collection. When we acquire the new tools, we anticipate that the number of employees will increase by five.

The vision of the business is to achieve a clean and green environment. To achieve this dream, most proceeds from the business are currently retained to assist in the business operations and expand the business. Currently, I am in the process of acquiring modern and safe waste collection tools and am looking for USD 249. With this fund, I expect the capacity of the business to expand and profit to grow by at least 20% per month. Later, I plan to diversify the business of waste recycling.

Loan Proposal

During my operations as a garbage collector, I have realized majority of my clients in slum areas do not have access to clean water. My engagement with them has revealed the lack is not by choice, it is because they cannot access adequate clean water. My small market analysis reveals that while this is a social problem, it presents business opportunity and can be tapped.
I plan to acquire water purification machines that will be used to purify water to the clients at USD 0.02 per 20litres at various points of water collection. The area has over 400,000 residents. I am targeting at least 100,000 residents for a start and expects to purify at least 50,000 liters of water per day. This will translate into revenue of at least USD 1000 per day. I expect to incur operating cost of USD 650 per day and this will give net profit of USD 350 per day. I plan to use 60 percent of the weekly profit in repayment of this loan and to facilitate acquisition of other cleaning machines to expand the business. The left profit will be ploughed back into the business for the time being to enhance stability and growth of the business.
Just as you have believed in my ideas before, I request you to believe in this idea and support me financially.

This is because waste collection and disposal was then purely the affair of the local authorities. I saw an opportunity in the environment and started a garbage collection and disposal business. Currently, the business operates at a cost of USD 900 and generates after tax profit of US400 on average per month. The business has three full time employees and 14 casual employees who help in garbage collection . The business is in the process of renting a new site for temporary storage of recyclable garbage. We need USD 400 for deposit payment. Through some savings from the business, I able to raise USD 160. I am looking for the remaining USD 240 through this loan. With this fund, the business will get space and will soon start recycling of wastes. In addition, the revenue generation of the business will grow by around 10%. I believe I will be able to repay the loan in time.
