About Me

I am a 26-year-old young Kenyan born in the western part of Kenya, Webuye and brought up in the capital city of kenya, Nairobi. I spent my childhood life in Nairobi, Kasarani area and enjoyed all my childhood in this noisy but peaceful neigbourhood. This being a slum, I knew my only way out was through education and so I worked hard in both primary and secondary school. After my high school, I got funds from my parents and older siblings and managed to purchase my first computer. That’s where I started doing online jobs and started a small shop where I work as a freelancer.

Just like any other congested slum, the norm is 'survival for the fittest’ and only the aggressive survive. That’s what I love about my area.

When am not working, I love to ride my bike around my area and visiting my old time friends, those we grew up with.

My Business

I work as a freelancer, writing articles and academic papers for companies. This type of service is on demand at the moment since every business is going online and people want content for their websites. This is the reason why I am always busy.

I chose this particular business because I have a passion for writing and so it better to earn from what I love. Apart from my passion, this is also a lucrative job that will even pay more if I employ more young people and supply the overwhelming orders I get.

I am paid on a weekly basis and my pay ranges from $200 to $300 per week. This means on average I earn $800 per month.

I reinvest my profit and also pay bills using the same. I believe in creating employment and that's why my main focus is growing my business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you for being part of my journey and supporting me all the way.
This is my third loan that will go into my project and help me attain the vision I have of transforming my ghetto. I am a freelance writer so I will use $300 of my loan to buy 3 laptops costing $100 each and distribute them to three of my trainees. I encourage them to work from home and this is why I will use the remaining $150 to buy 3 modems that cost $90 and buy data bundles to start them off. I have increased the number of job intake since my first loan and I will distribute to them. I intent to rich out to the jobless youths and reduce the rate of crime and prostitution in my community. I hope you will hold my hand through this journey.

My business premise was demolished by the Roads Authority because the owner of the building built it along the road. That's why I have been having problems paying my loan on time. But I am in the process of relocating and will soon get back to my feet again. Thank you.

Let me start off by saying a big thank you for the influence you have had in my project. I started from a humble beginning and the journey has been smooth thanks to the first and the second loan you lend me. I have been able to engage the youths who live in my slum and provided job opportunities to them. Now they can work from the comfort of their homes. This has reduced idleness in my area and I hope with your support, I will completely eradicate crime and prostitution in my community.I have attached a photo of one of my trainee

    Dear Lenders
I will like to start off by thanking you from the bottom of my heart for funding my loan request on time and laying the ground ready for me. I received Ksh 30,000 that greatly helped me start the project I had envisioned for long. I bought two desktop computers, a desk and chairs. I have also managed to employ one writer to help me with the writing projects. My dream is to expand my business and employ more youths from my ghetto. I am sure I will achieve that with your help. Thank you once again and God bless you.
