Rentals are a big cost in business in this part of the world. This is the reason I determined to build myself a shop. It's going to be expensive initially but will pay off in the long run. I have broken the project in 4 phases. Phase 1.) Foundation, Superstructure, Roofing, Floor and Septic tank. Total cost about $2,300 (Completed) Phase 2.) Plastering walls, Doorframes and doors, Window frames and Window panes, Painting. Total cost $2,000 (More than half has been done) Phase 3.) Toilets, Verandah (Roofing, Pillars, Electrical wiring, Tiles) Total cost about $250 Phase 4.) Electricity connection to power grid, Equipment (Photocopier, Laminator, 2 Secondhand desktops, 2 Tablets, 4 Secondhand chairs) Total cost about $1,000 I plan to help the youths in the area in the way of motivating them to make something of their lives and have computer games as way of teaching and recreation. There is not much in the way of creation and role-models here.

Monthly rent will be Usd 150 which is Kes 15,000/- which will cost me Usd1, 800 and in Kes. 180,000/- I have already save the remaining balance, so I was requesting zidisha to lend me so that i can be able to proceed with my business. Its interesting how Zidisha has positively impacted my life. With my just completed loan I was able to venture into a new business of typing and printing . I had made some good profit this being a cold season and trench coat are on high demand. Now that the secondhand clothes business is stable, I bought a small printer which I use alongside my desk top and that's how I've managed to start the typing business at my shop

I highly appreciate my dear lenders for invaluable financial support towards actualization of our my dreams & aspirations.Just for a mere fact that lenders & borrowers are very far from each other, trusting kind of invisible borrowers is unfathomable & highly commendable. My commitment is always do my best to repay on time to be a motivational catalyst in your global noble course. I will boost my stocks like weetabix $10 a carton of 37g,baby diapers $9,sunny girl sanitary towels $17 per carton, 45g aerial $8per carton, tropical sweets $14 per carton.among others. Since I cleared a huge bank loan I had on April this year, which was quite suppressive to my business unlike zidisha which is cheaper &flexible,by God's grace after a peaceful elections here in my dear country Kenya,I will be able to borrow much for huge impact for mutual benefit. Once again thank you very much, keep up & God bless. Uno Josphat & Uno James...

Greetings to all my Supporters! Today marks 4 weeks in the USA (Albuquerque, New Mexico) for the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program at the University of New Mexico. As i earlier wrote, i'm one of the 1000 young Africans across 48 countries in Africa participating in this prestigious fellowship! So far am enjoying my stay and have visited alot of exciting places like the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe and the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. While in the USA i have been working on how i can amplify the work am doing back home in Zambia, and after a number of discussion of people and my Professors here, we decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to help us speed up the distribution of 250 more solar lamps by 250 and impact 8,000 more lives. The campaign was launched on Saturday and so far we have managed to raise $65 out of the $5,000! To all of you who have supported me through and through, i extend this invitation to consider visiting my crowdfunding campaign and see what we can achieve together! Its really amazing and i will personally ship you photos with your names on them and a T-Shirt from Zambia for any of the level support you offer. I believe we can do so much together and we can go far then we can imagine or think of! Thanks to Tom who reached out and donated! I look forward to meeting with him either here in Albuquerque in the coming weeks or in Washington D.C when i will be attending the Presidential Summit. To all of you my supporters here is the link to my crowdfunding campaign: https://igg.me/at/BU8v3PUek-U I look forward to working with you in building a business that care for People, Planet & Profit! Join me today and lets build a better world!comment image

Everything is going on well.Pupils are happy learning from our school. One challenge ahead is that education in Kenya is changing. The whole curriculum is changing. The government has provided laptops for class one children in government schools. For us to remain in business we have to follow suit which is quite an expensive activity. It is my hope that you will support us when we come borrowing to go digital. Thanks zidisha team.I count on you to maintain our business.
