In many campgrounds in Canada, there is concern about food leftovers attracting animals which could potentially be dangerous, and which might become too used to scavenging from campgrounds to survive as a healthy wild animal, so there are many variants on the "bear-safe" garbage can. For the first time I saw a specifically set up place to dump water after using it to wash dishes, to keep things sanitary and again, to reduce attractants to animals. In a lot of campgrounds it's just expected that you will find a drain somewhere - in the wash block or under a water tap, perhaps, but at this second campsite in a national park, there is no modern plumbing, it's a fairly new park in a fairly remote area, and they clearly thought about the dishwater problem and asked actual campers what to do about it. This park is amazing, in an area that was broken up by ranches and farms about a hundred and ten years ago, and then put back together again as it's a tough place to raise food profitably. (It's fairly dry, far away from markets, and then it gets very very cold in the winter.) I really liked being able to see what this land would have looked like before being settled by farmers. It's not exactly like it would have been, of course, because it's really impossible to recreate the past, but I felt like I was getting a fairly accurate impression of wild prairie badlands.comment imagecomment imagecomment image

Hello! I'm glad that you're almost completed your office building. I went on holiday for the first two weeks of August, and took some photos that you might be interested in. The first one that I think I am attaching right now, is of a campsite where the managers created privacy for the sites by mounding earth and growing tall grass on the mounds between the tent/RV sites. Also I include a photo of the shower building, which I was surprised to discover was solar heated. And the view across a little lake a short walk from this campground.comment imagecomment imagecomment image

This is my second loan from Zidisha. The first loan went a long way in assisting me to add new items in my boutique and salon which I previously did not have. This included shoes, hair accessories and hair chemicals. My profits shot up and I was able to repay my loan earlier than anticipated. With my increased earnings, I also joined a group for youthful women in development which we discuss development issues. Thank you so much lenders. Mercy.

Hi Micheal, Apologies for my silence so far at Zidisha. I have always been loyal to this communtiy and especially my lenders. I was a victim to the famous June 3 flood that took place in Accra Last Year. On that faithful day, I way returning from the Ashanti region where I normally go for my goods, unfortunately I came into contact with this disaster which took the lives of hundreds of people. Fortunately , my life was spared, however, I lost all that goods I had on me to the flood. I have been strangled with this trauma psychologically and it has been about a year now. I am now fully recovered and I promised to pay anything I owe my lenders since I just had a new job last month. May I reiterate that I am very sorry .

Hi Zidisha Team and lenders, I am very happy today 8/8/2016 to let you know that my loan has been 100% funded. This took less time than I had anticipated and I am extremely grateful. I will add my stock for clothings immediately so that my customers will have a variety to choose from. This will make my clothing store a large business than previous was and in turn my profits will go up. The additional money from the project will be used to repay my Zidisha loan and the rest for expansion. God will surely reward all of you that took the courage to trust in my project and I promise you that I will in turn honour to repay on time. Kind regards, Joseph.
