About Me

Hi, my name is Baah Emmanuel. I am 25 years of age. At the age of four, I lost my father. My parents were farmers so I helped my mother at the farm. I was very determined to go to school so my mother helped me little by little. When I completed Junior High School, I started a small bakery to support her. I was able to raise a little money and with the help of my mother I went to High School. I used to come back from school to work at the bakery. I saved small money by three years time and enrolled at the University. I am currently in my final year at the University and still doing the bakery business.

My Business

I bake bread and supply to local store owners and collect the money at the end of every week. I use wheat flour which cost GHS 180 per bag, sugar which cost GHS 220 per bag and margarine which cost GHS 240 per box and some other minor ingredients. Mostly I buy these items on credit and pay at the end of the week with an interest of about 19% on these items. i have to accept it because that's the only choice I have. I pay all the expenses at the end of the week and save part for the business and part for my school. I recently bought a new large oven to support the old one.

Loan Proposal

When this loan is obtained, it would be a blessing to me. I would buy 10 bags of wheat flour which cost $45 per bag. I would also buy 10 bags of sugar which cost $40 per bag and 10 buckets of magerine which also cost $27 per bucket. I would also buy milk and flavour of $25. When this is done I would not buy any good on credit anymore. This will prevent me from paying extra $8 on each credited good. Also if were to be a bank loan, I would have paid 31% interest. All these would come back to add to my income which would lead to a great expansion of my business. Credit to ZIDISHA.

I was transferred to do my national service at a different region, and a lot of adjustments had to be made which affected my business financially. I am still working on resolving it.

Thank you lenders for funding this loan. I will buy 3 bags of flour, 3 bags sugar and margarine for my bakery. This will save me from paying high interest of about 19% weekly if these items were bought on credit. I will save to expand my business. Thanks once again for funding this loan.

      Hello,

You would have to ask the Staff (a.k.a. "the Team": www.zidisha.org/team) that question.

You can do so by posting in the "Borrower Questions" section of the Forum, as they almost never visit the borrower-lender Discussion page of any individual borrower.

Please don't confuse the ordinary lenders with the Staff (a.k.a. "the Team").

Although the two (2) current members of the Staff also are lenders,
most lenders *aren't* on the Staff (a.k.a. "the Team"), whom you can see
by clicking on the link provided in this post.

It is only the Staff that can help with anything technical and/or administrative.

The ordinary lenders don't decide who can post a loan request, what the credit limit would be, or anything other than how much they would like to help contribute toward funding a loan request, and for whom.

The Staff (a.k.a. the "Team": www.zidisha.org/team)
on the Zidisha platform functions as the intermediary
between the lenders and the borrowers.

I hope that helps clear up some of the confusion you may have.

I have now invested in the business so it will take me a little while to adjust things properly. By the time I'm done with the next two installments, I'll be able to make payment for the initial amount. Thanks lenders once again for the opportunity.

I received an amount of 764 cedis. I bought 2 bags of sugar which cost 460 cedis, 2 bags of wheat flour for 374 cedis and a box of margarine. I would have paid an interest of close to 500 cedis if I bought them on credit. Thanks to Zidisha I'm not paying any of those interests any more. God bless you all..... lenders.

Thank you lenders for funding this loan. I will buy wheat flour, sugar and margarine as inventory for my baking business. This will help me avoid any interest as compared to when I buy these goods on credit. It will help me save for expansion of the business and also my education. Good bless you.

Thanks to my lenders. This would be my fourth loan. I have been able to buy one big double door oven and one small one too. Again I saved a lot and used the savings to enroll into a university where I am currently in level 300. I also support my junior brother who is in he high school. All these were possible because I didn't have to pay high interest for buying goods on credit or on bank loans. Zidisha offers loans on very low interest rates. Thanks once again lenders.

Happy to hear Zidisha has been good for you. Just a point of clarification, though: Zidisha does not charge interest on loans. Unlike some lending organizations that charge interest *and* fees, Zidisha charges *fees only*. Although those have become higher over the years, to partially offset defaults, the total charged still is less than what some other lending businesses charge. Again, am happy to hear Zidisha is of benefit to you!

I have not received all the payments from my customers so I cannot pay the amount due now. Therefore I would like to reduce the payment amount.

I reduced the installment amount and used the profit to pay for my school expenses. Now holidays are just around the corner so no school expenses for now, therefore I am increasing my installment amount. Thanks once again, all my lenders.

I invested the loan in my baking business and I saved the profits. I was able to enroll in the University and I am now in my third year. I adjusted my installment amount to a small amount so that I can cater for my school needs. I will be in my final year soon. Thanks to the lenders here.

I am now in school and facing some financial difficulties. I therefore want to reduce my installment amount to an amount I can easily pay. I will then increase it when the need comes.
