About Me

I am Lance Dzombo, a father of three children; a boy and two girls. The first and second are in high school while the last is in primary level.
I live in the coast of Kenya Mombasa at Walea Village in Kaloleni. I went through primary level of education and later joined a high school up to form four where I completed my studies before venturing into business.
I started business so as to increase my income and also i found it interesting being a farmer and at the same time a businessman. I started other project of like small poultry farmer and bought one cattle so as to boost my income from the milk sale.
These agricultural activities will help me in my business since I want to start another project of planting kales and cabbages so as to make the work easier in terms of selling them instead of travelling all a long the way to mombasa to buy them from wholeselars. My pastime hobby is reading and singing.

My Business

My business is a grocer and since it is, I sell goods like cabbages, kales, tomatoes, onions, bananas potatoes, spinach and many others.
The demand of this business is high though not for all the time, and this is because the goods i sell are basic, meaning that they are needed by the consumers each and every day to satisfy their needs and also because the population around my business is high.
Most of the people prefer to come to my grocer simply because of the way I handle them and the goods i offer are always fresh. I offer some service after sale such as packaging the goods and I also treat them gently and equitably. Since my customers come in big numbers my and there is no much wastages as in perishability and minor damages to goods are being contained properbly there is profitability to this business.
Some of the risks incurred in this business is like kales going bad but controlled by avoiding holding a large stock and selling in time to avoid them staying more than one day. Another risk is experienced when tomatoes are being damaged, where this is avoided by buying only tomatoes which at once by mix them with the ones which are ready to be used and few which can last for some time.
I spend almost Ksh,30,000 per month on buying the goods and get almost Ksh.40,000 after selling in the whole month and since there are some expenses like transport, packaging materials, I spend Ksh.4,000 on this expenses thus making a profit of Ksh.6,000 per month.

Loan Proposal

To begin with I have benefited a lot from the previous loans; I managed to plant nappier grass for my cattle and paid school fees in college for my first born.
I want to this loan to use it for paying school fees for my last born who is joining secondary school and the section of it start local breed poultry project. I will use Ksh 15,000 of the loan to pay school fees, Ksh.8,000 for poultry project, ksh. 1000 I will put into grocery to increase stock supply and rest of the money I will use it to put into the family basic use and developments. I appreciate your good work.
Thanks in advance
Lance Dzombo

Hello. Are you in touch with Martha Nyundo, whom you invited? She is a long way behind with her payments now. Can you ask her to get in touch with Zidisha and sort out a lower installment rate to help her?
    God bless you,
    Wendy

After paying for school fees, now am stress-free and embarking in business as usual. The profit increased and now I want everybody to light their houses and working areas for effective work at all times. Since I abandoned use of other power, I have never known darkness and that is why I am promoting the sale of solar-energy lamps. Here is my grocery kiosk with new stock and also it's where solar-energy lamps are now available for sale.

Hi Zidisha team, I always thank you for all your time and support to me. Today I say thank you for the money you gave me, I got it and I have already put it to work. As I earlier informed you, I needed to pay school fees for my daughter. I have paid for her first-term fees from the money you gave me. The rest of the money I put into my business and am introducing selling solar-energy lamps. I am showing you the lamps in the pictures I took. These lamps are cost-effective. I have used them in my kiosk for almost two years and most people admire them so much, hence I decided to bring these to them. Since other power source proved unreliable due to fluctuations time and time again.

First and foremost I will like to take this opportunity to thank you zidisha especially members who contributed to my previous loan. I used the loan to purchase goods to increase my vegetable stock but much of the amount I used it to pay school fees for my child. From the amount I put in business it has increased my profit a lot and from that profit I managed to purchase daily goats which I will show in picture. I choose to keep this daily goats because the goat milk is highly nutritious and is not commonly reared, I am glad that it is a very unique thing and a great achievement to me and family.

I thank you zidisha for the loan I took, I used it to plant grass for feeding my cattle. I am not struggling to look for feeds since the pasture has boosted the food stuff. I have enough time to look after my animals, the milk production has gone high.
The achievement I have gained to the family is that I managed to take my kid to college and others did their final examinations who are yet to join studies for the next level. Also have a look of me at the farm I planted grass from the money I borrowed from you.
    Thank you very much

Here at the coast during the Christmas holiday people cerebrate very extraordinary, they bring discos to the village and christians organise for camp meetings for the kids, for instance I have posted the picture of pathfinder group camp where my kids participated. Also have a look of me planting grass at the farm I prepared by the money I borrowed from you.
