My Business

I have a business of dairy farming. For now I have two cows which give me around 20liters per day and cost of milk is 30 per liter so I get at least 600 per day from the income of milk and 18000 per month. This money I use for paying bills and educating my reimaing children also grow crops as part of my business where l get around 200000 annually from that kind of farming i get 400000 per a year from the work I do. I do not have a lot of expenses because I stay in my farm where we have built our home. i choose the above business because after school i helped my parent with same business so i got enough skill for that business and also i learnt about marketing and different seasons for different commodities. i would like to put new stock in my shop and also replace the finished stock. i will use all the money as follows kes 90000 for buying Rice, sugar, maize flour , wheat flour , soap both bar and powder etc I am hoping to receive more customers during the festival seasons.

Loan Proposal

I would like to uplift my farming business I would like to buy seeds and also to prepare my shamba before rainy season which usually begin from April in our country. I would need around 60000 for those preparations.

Hello, my name is Traci Yoshiyama, Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Manager. I am currently residing in Mugaa, visiting Zidisha borrowers in nearby villages.

The word of Zidisha has spread like wildfire in the surrounding villages of Nakuru. Although I may have scheduled two or three meetings, I always anticipate making unexpected visits to twice that amount, for the streets of these small towns are lined with Zidisha members. Such was the case today when I made an impromptu visit to Ludia Wangui’s general store in Bahati.

Established in 1989, Ludia’s shop was but a mere kiosk selling fruits and vegetables. It was not until June of this year that Ludia expanded her business, now having her own shop with shelves stocked with tomatoes, onions, potatoes, bananas, eggs, sugar, unga, baking flour, tea, soda, candy, and much more. A large portion of this stock was bought with Ludia’s first Zidisha loan. Among her most significant purchase was a cow, which has allowed Ludia to sell milk in her shop, a commodity that every Kenyan cannot be without. Being on its first months, Ludia’s shop has not yet reached fruition, for she hopes to add shelves to a bare wall, with of course more items for her customers to enjoy.

Having another Zidisha member to see (and another spur-of-the-moment visit to Ludia’s daughter’s shop), my time with Ludia was short-lived. Wanting to rejuvenate me for my remaining day in Bahati, she would not let me leave without treating me to a Fanta. She also did not want to pass up the chance to tell her lenders that she is thankful for all they have done and looks forward to continuing on as a Zidisha member for the years to come.
