About Me
I am Nancy born in Nyeri county which is in central Kenya. I grew up in this area where I also went to primary and later secondary school. I did not go beyond secondary school because my parents could not afford the high fees demanded by colleges at that time.
I later met my husband who was working in far away city of Mombasa where I relocated and we are happily married with three kids. I believe my entrepreneurial skills are inborn because I love the work I do. I hope to expand my small shop into a big store in future.
My Business
I deal with sales of new and used clothes. I sell new clothes for babies and little children and used clothes for adults. I get my stock from large stores where I buy at a wholesale price and then retail them at a profit. My profit margin varies from 25 - 40% depending on the source and the season.
I make around $200 net per month and I use this money to run the family budget. I hope to keep growing my business with the good support of Zidisha to enable me reach my goal of financial freedom.
Loan Proposal
We are now getting into the cold season. During this time, warm clothes like jackets are always in high demand. I want to use this money to stock an assortment of jackets for both sexes and children too.
I will use $200 to buy new jackets and then use the balance to buy a stock of used ones. This will go a long way in boosting my already growing business.
