About Me

My Names are Jane Wanjku. I am second born daughter in a family of 2. I went to Mai-i-ihii Primary school in Kiambu county. Thereafter i joined Moi Girls Kamangu in Kiambu county.
I joined Moi bridge Eldoret college where i persued Diploma in food production. I joined several local food production industries where i gained experience in food production relevant to my course.
However, i later joined Nairobi tannery as a secretary and later sales lady. I worked for 2 years before i Co founded soft leather with another partner.
Soft leather deals with manufacture of quality leather.

My Business

My business's name is soft leather products where we deal with manufacturer of quality leather. My main source of raw materials is local slaughter houses.
Our company operates form Saika Omega. Our sales account to major sources of funding for the production process.
The business is profitable because there are few of such who manufacture leather. However small scale we are, we are looking forward to expanding it in future subject to availability of funding.
The potential for growth in Kenya’s leather industry is considerable. The government estimates that value addition could more than double the current earnings to ksh 9 billion. The country has in recent years produced over two million hides (mainly cattle, with some camel) and around four million skins (goats and sheep).

Loan Proposal

Everybody love shoes. Because of this the industry of shoe making around the world is still growing and continues to get bigger in the coming up years. In shoe making business, the key ingredient to success is creativity and incomparable skill in creating and designing footwear for everybody. There’s always a big demand for shoes and people love to shop shoes as part of their collection or hobby. No matter what the economy dictates it can’t stop people from buying shoes making it as a stable and profitable business venture to deal with.
Here is my my budget for my 3rd loan.

4. Assorted decorators = 3,500KES

    The reason why i want to reschedule my payment my business is down,
    do to insecurity.i do do close my workshop early than usually.during the day
    i don't have a lot of customers.i would like to decrease amount so that i can be able to pay.am very apologetic fornot paying on time

    Thanks alot to all lenders and zidisha team.i would like to increase my payment from 200ksh. to 500ksh. so that i can finish my payment before rescheduled time.my business had been down for a while but at least it is picking.i would like to have a good relationship with zidisha team.

    Am very apologetic for inconveniences for not communicating.Actually my account was dormant .it was tampered but it is okey.thanks for your understanding to lenders and zidisha team.The main reason for not paying on time was one of my employee got an accident,he was given bed rest.he was only employee who was able to operate safari boots sewing machines in my workshop.at the moment am hiring part time employee.am paying him at a high rate.most of the orders i have loose since the business is not operating as usual.

    I phoned Jane today at 4:56 pm, she was proposing to pay at the end of the month but after talking to her she opted to reschedule to a lower amount that she will be able to comfortably pay

    To all Lenders and Zidisha team. I am reporting that i have finsihed repaying the 2nd loan.However this time, business was so bad the way i had not exppected. One reason was that, we were evacuated from our normal business site to a new area and getting new customers havve been quite a problem.
    Aologies to my lenders and Zidisha team.
    I also have realized i am 99% refudended with a deficit of 54Kenya Shillings. I think i must forgot this. I have reaid the 54 KES. Here is the message that confirms that:
    FH27GD295 Confirmed Ksh54.00 sent to Zidisha Inc. for account 27331198 on 1/7/14 at 12:17 PM.

    Hello Zidisha and Lenders. Am sorry to report that, i will not be able to repay today 21st as scheduled. This round my business is not good. We were evacuated from our normal business site and so i am in new place and have to take time to get new customers. However, my loan repayment date moves to next week same day with amount remaining as same as before.
    Kindly bare with my situation.

    Hello Lenders and Zidisha founders. Business this round is not going on well me. We have been relocated to another area which is new. So am struggling to get customers.
    I am therefore rescheduling todays payment to next week same day with same amount.

    target this week due to power breakdown.

    Hello Zidisha and lenders. I am here to report that, due to late delivery of raw materials for my shoe business, i will not be able to repay today as shown on my repayment schedule. I have therefore rescheduled to next week on 31/05/2014. The amount to be repayed remains.
