About Me

My name is Jackline - married with one kid. I am the first born in a family of five. I reside with my family at Baraka Estate - outskirts of Kericho town. I am a nurse by profession - studied a diploma course in community nursing at Kenya Medical Training College and currently I am working as an intern at Kericho District Hospital. The position does not pay me, and therefore we rely on business to sustain us. My husband and I have a cereal shop at Kapsoit Shopping Centre that has been has a success so far, thanks to Zidisha support. We have also established a poultry enterprise recently at home.

My hobbies are reading novels, listening to music, and adventure.

My Business

Thank you so much Zidisha lenders for your noble work. My first loan was a success. The savings from the cereal shop have enabled me establish a poultry enterprise. I already have 10 indigenous hens, which I would like to build on. I chose indigenous breeds because the demand for indigenous poultry products is good in our region--for instance, the price of eggs is 50% better than those for exotic breeds. I spoke to a few hotels and they gave me a go-ahead.

I would be on leave during the month of April and would like to spend time expanding the poultry house, adding to the number of hens, and following up on tenders for the supply of eggs.

Loan Proposal

I would like to expand my stock of maize, rice and wheat and also dried beans to match my customer needs during this festive period. I therefore plan to use $70 on purchasing the additional stock and $30 on transport to and from Busia.
The increased stock will improve my net profits, help me pay the loan with ease and save more for future projects such as introduction of fresh produce within the same shop.

I hope your business has improved. Can you please find out when Betty Bii, one of the borrowers you invited, would be able to continue with her repayments? Thank you.

    Hello Lenders,
Thank you so much for the loan you gave me. I bought the chicks- some already laying while others are due within a month.
I am sorry I will start the repayments slow but will catch up before end of May.
I got up with time as my first order for the supply of eggs will start during the first week of May.
Thank you for your patience and God bless you all.

    Greetings RachelJaneClark,
I hope this finds you well.
Things are still getting better with time despite a few challenges. For the final two weeks, i would like to increase the size of my installment- to split the remaining balance into two installments.
Thank you and have a blessed day.

Thanks Jackline. Take the time you need. If it easier to pay back the remaining amount over more weeks that is fine by us. Rachel

    Greetings Rachel,
I hope the new year finds you well. I wish you every blessing through it.
I am writing to let you know that my repayment during the first few weeks will be slow. I recently bought the new stock and the business is currently slow. I expect it to pick up in the course of January and will resume paying faster.
Thank you and happy new year.
