About Me

My name is Jones Agutu from Kenya. I'm 30
years old with a background education on Agribusiness at my college level. This was my greatest achievement after under going vigorous schooling in National Youth Service paramilitary college. I've had an interest in agriculture for a very long time and I saw the need to start poultry farming since egg demand was extremely high in my locality. For your information, we eat eggs from Uganda a neighbouring country. This means local production is low to meet the market demand. My hobby is majorly reading enterprenural and agricultural books. I run too an hatchery by the name of Agoro Poultry Hatchery that sells day old to one month old chicks.

My Business

My main source of income is from my salary. This can't enable me support my family so a need for a second income. This would make me raise socially active people in the community. I got a loan earlier from Zidisha and it has really managed my hens to lay eggs timely and the growth rate of the chicks has increased.

Loan Proposal

The loan will be used for poultry growers mash and newcastle vaccine purchases. This will go at a cost of 8.5$ and 3.32$ respectively. With this purchases my poultry flock would have constant feeding and vaccination hence resulting to faster growth and less mortality. A healthy bird fetches a good price and most customers prefer that.

I used the last loan to buy the chickens feeds and vaccines. My birds production have been steady and rarely do I loose any to diseases. My revenues have increased though the cost of feeds are highly. I have realised an income from sale of poultry mature too. The birds have complemented my income and I'm able to feed my young family with a balanced diet.

The last loan I got I used to purchase chicken feeds and vaccines in the local market. With the purchases my birds have grown well and have not yet lost any bird against any disease. My egg production has been stable and I have been able to feed my family nutritiously and selling the excess to my neighbours. With stable feeding of my poultry I was able to hatch 50 new chicks.

My chicks hatched very well at the incubator in the past 3 weeks. I have been able to buy chick mash on time for them and dispensed the first vaccination of newcastle disease. I haven't lost any chick and my flock is soon increasing tremendously so that I can have good flock for sale for good profit. I'm also able to pick eggs regularly which I do sell the excess and also feed my family on a balanced diet. With the easter Holiday coming, I'm going to make good sales because of your support.

I received the loan on time and I used it for the purchase of feeds and fowl pox vaccine. My birds have been laying eggs constantly and rarely do diseases affect them. The eggs that I have picked will be hatched at a nearby hatchery for the purpose of sale and increasing my stock.

The money I received was used for poultry feeds and vaccines purchase. These purchase tremendously helped my flock to be healthy and grow faster. I do also collect eggs daily and I will take them to a nearby hatchery so as to sell to the already market in my locality.

I used the loan to buy local poultry feeds that are affordable than the conventional feeds that are always expensive. It has cut cost for me and my birds can now feed for a very long time.
