About Me

I am Patrick Eshun, from a village called Mpeseduadze near Abura Dunkwa in the Central region of Ghana. my parents were peasant farmers who uses to grow vegetable crops. due to the less proceeds they were getting from their products, though they wanted the best for me in my education, they couldn't help me much in my education. I tried my possible best to work with them and at the same time assist someone who owns his computer repairing shop to gather some money for my education.
after my university education, I made some savings whiles I was teaching as a community teacher to establish my own printing press business which I am currently managing it by myself.

My Business

I own a Printing press of which I am currently managing it by myself. I used the small savings I did to invest about GHc 2000.00 to establish this business. it gives me a profit of not less than GHC 450.00 per week. I use the proceeds to cater for my younger siblings and my old age parents who are no longer working.

Loan Proposal

I am renovating my workplace, I have bought some items of which I need to transport those items to the workplace to finish the renovation. I need this loan to add up to some amount to transport those items from the market to the workplace quickly finish the renovation, so that business will start at the shortest possible time.

Patrick, please be aware that although the two (2) people currently on the Staff also are lenders, most lenders are *not* on the Staff and cannot help you with anything technical, or usually with anything administrative either.

Therefore, your borrower-lender Discussion page isn't the correct place to try to reach the Staff (a/k/a Team: www.zidisha.org/team), because the Staff almost never visits these borrower pages.

Your borrower-lender Discussion page is for you and your lenders to talk to each other about your projects and your life in general, and theirs, too, if they wish to share. It also is for mentors to post messages for you and/or for your lenders.

To reach the Staff, though, please always click on the HELP link in your account. Thank you.

i don't understand certain things here, i have been consistent with my payment but now that i am creating another loan proposals, they are now asking me to pay Ghs 80.00 before i can continue my loan proposal. Julia should come out and tell us the truth about that premium membership payment and credit risk fees which they say it is refundable but we don't see any link in our dashboard to refund our monies.

they should remember we using the loan for business, if i should pay Ghs 80.00 before i get my next loan which will not be increased to level which i want, then i don't know the importance of that payment.
madam Julia should quickly explain this me immediately.

If you read the "Announcements" section in the Forum, you would see that Julia announced some time ago that the Credit-Risk Fee is refundable only for loans taken out prior to December 17, 2018.

It's my understanding that this has become necessary due to a higher rate of defaulting on the platform, so the "insurance" fund that that fee money goes into is for reimbursing lenders at least some of what they lose to defaults of any borrower (not just you, since it works very much like other types of insurance, where everyone pays premiums, but nobody gets refunds if the insurance doesn't get used personally for them). Even as high as the fees unfortunately have become, Zidisha still does not collect enough to compensate lenders for the full amount of all defaults. But at least when they get some portion back from the "insurance" fund, then that BENEFITS BORROWERS because most Zidisha lenders are not rich people and depend on repayments to be able to help borrowers with new projects in the future.

I understand you perfectly but i think the one time premium membership should be stable. previously it was Ghs 40.00 and just a moment, it has increased to Ghs 80.00 of which if i pay, i may not get the amount i want to boost business.
i think lenders can also talk to zidisha staffs to manage their things well
        thanks

No, lenders don't have any more influence over the two Staff members than borrowers do. What you can and should do is the same as anyone can do, which is to post in the Forum about it. I didn't know that was happening, and I'll bet others don't know, too. You can start a conversation about it in the Forum, and the Staff will see it.

The best hope Zidisha borrowers have of fees being reduced to the lower levels they used to be at, long ago (just a one-time Membership Registration Fee, and a per-loan 5% Service Fee), is if ideally every borrower, or at least the vast majority, honor the obligations they enter into here, in a timely manner. It isn't easy, I know, and I definitely sympathize, but that's the only hope. Even if some wealthy individual or organization were to gift a million dollars to the platform, if defaults continue to occur at a high rate, that money would disappear, too. So, the success of the platform really is in the hands of the borrowers, first and foremost.

I used my previous loan for a repair of a machine I use at my workplace. It really help me when the money I am supposed to use was not enough for the repairs. Zidisha is indeed a very good financial organization.
