I was born in the year 1993 on 7th of January in the village of Borborwet Kapsuser ward Belgut constituency, Kericho county in the western part of Kenya. I grew up in a family of six I am the third born and I have two sisters and three brothers. Education wise, I completed in the year 2010, I joined a tertiary institution and studied diploma in business management. My life has been surrounded by all manner of challenges and opportunities. Coming from a middle level family with the less resources available to sustain me and my fellow brothers and sisters. We had to struggle in many ways like lack of fees and constantly out of school looking for fees. This made me to venture into business that can lift me with the little brothers and sisters. School fees was of a big problem that made our parents really struggle hard (going to pluck tea leaves for neighbors so that they get fees for my education) and with the current situation in our country right now that it needs a lot of funds for someone to take a step. I completed my tertiary institution just after two years and search for a job but unluckily jobs are not such easy to get one, I choose to employ myself. And started by being a cowboy for my neighbor. This brought me up venture into my own business of dairy farming.
I have been in farming industry(dairy farming) for the last two years, I started dairy farming with a small calf that I bought from the money that I got from the building contract that I served as the man of hand (watu wa mkono). And savings from the being a cowboy bought me one goat. I later sold the goat when the calf was sick so that I got the vets attention. I was also motivated by my fellow friends and volunteer mentors that they have the experience and with the opportunities currently present. The calf which I bought grew very well and gave birth to a heifer which and produced four litres of milk daily. Challenges in this business is that when it comes to seasons like drought mainly in my area the feeds are not easily to be found so it forces me to buy from far grass like boma rods, hay and sometimes go far distance looking for dairy meal, also during this seasons the milk produce is of low quantity leading to the loss. Even though with the previous challenges I can get a profit during good seasons that is when the quantity of the milk is high. And currently we have new kcc that is an industry that buys milk produce from us in high quantity and pays very wells.
with the i will use to renovate the house of my dairy house,i will renovate the flow by plastering so that it will be comfortable for my cows.the renovation isto make my milking place safe and clean that while i am milking there is a good place where i can place my jericans.renovation is in need because sometimes when it rains the water stacknet and making the place uncomfotable to my cow while milking. want to design a well that when it rains the water droping from the shade will be drain out of the milking shade and making the place comfortable, also it will be easier when cleaning such that it will not be maddy.the renovation will cost me ksh.25000 fo all the materials and also labour that will be used upto complition. after this renovation will make the place clean and also on the place where they use to feed will be very clean.this will assist me to reduce the waste grass bacause once it normally drops then it become waste but after renovation the place will be well equiped and making them easy when grazing.
with the loan i will also improve my neiphier grass plantation, currently there is an improved way of planting the grass using little space or land and will be much productice, this grass is also with the high quality prioduction after cows are feed on
it will need to dig a lines likes terassess where the grass will be planted. also after diging manure will be placed down before the grass is planted. the after some days when the manure mature grass will be planted closser to each other this will utilise the space and produce more.the activity will cost me ksh 15000 for digging the lines and labour to put the manure on the lines also with the plantation time where i will get the grass and labour to plant.
with other a mount of loan i will use to purchase the feeds for my farming that will boost my production . also vacination of my cows. currently we are heading to festive seasons where milk will be needed in high demand and will make sure that i will satisfy my customers will their demands daily with improved products. also with the new plantation it will reduce my expenditure because will reduce puchasing grass for my cows during dry seasons and also making my farming continue .my icome will be increased because during festive seasons price per litre usualy rises like currently its 45 per litre but during festive season its 60 per litre.
