About Me

My name is John and I come from Kenya. I am the first born in a family of eight six boys and two girls. I did my Advanced level whereby I qualified to join the University. Later studied Philosophy and Theology which i passed with good honours and then got a job with the Child Welfare Society of Kenya. In this position i supported many orphans and vulnerable children thrive well with good care and protection. I am married and with six children all going to school and colleges. I love my family.
My hobbies are aerobics, jogging and hiking big mountains. I have done several hikes to almost all the big mountains in Kenya.

My Business

I have been jobless for some few years and therefore engaged myself in running a small shop for groceries, cereals and other general goods. It is able to provide food for the family but for educational needs I have to supplement with renting plots where I plant assorted plants such tomatoes, potatoes, peas and onions to sale to the market once they mature.
This way I am able to make some profit that I use to pay fees for my children's education. Any help or support to help realize this dream of educating all my children is well appreciated. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

Purchase assorted cereals for the shop from the rural vendors and farmers.
Prepare a special corner in my shop for cereals only.
The new site for the shop is well situated on the road side with a good flow of human traffic.
Cereals are in big demand.

I hope to purchase the cereals at wholesale prices and will sell at retail price therefore removing the distributor costs. In this way one is able to make bigger profit margins and at shorter intervals.

Business is going well but with a lot of good competition with other people who are not in employment. Everyone is trying business and interesting the vegetables stuff is most popular.
I am happy I have a good number of trusted clients giving me orders to supply them with vegetables. Meanwhile, I keep busy with the grocery store.

The repayment amount is on the higher end and I am forced to borrow more money from the business. The business will not grow at the rate I am repaying.

My dear lenders I am happy to update you on the progress of my business initiative. I had planned to get vegetables from Mt Kenya region who they are cheaper and efficient transportation but due to the government restrictions on movement in and out of the City of Nairobi I had to get an alternative. I am getting them from within my county of Kajiado but very remote area where the roads network is very poor. The vegetables are a bit expensive and transportation charges. But the idea is to keep trying and moving.

Another interesting factor is that there has mushroomed so many people with personal vehicles joining in the vegetable market. They are found all over strategic places as per are keen on making an extra income during these difficult economic downturn.
One has to contend with the competitors and become creative. I am therefore bringing in rare local vegetables that have nutritional values.
I have been able to get a few local weekly orders but I can only access the vegetables twice a week from farmers on the borders between Kenya and Tanzania.
    I will keep trying.

In my previous loan I was able to boost my financial situation in my kiosk. Right now with the COVID-19 status in my country Kenya there emerging markets for food delivery from up country to the towns. I have identified a steady increase in the market demand for cereals and vegetables. I am seeking a loan to help me grow my business of supply of cereals and vegetables.
