  Just a quick clarification: Zidisha does not charge interest on any of its loans. Zidisha charges fees only, unlike some other lending institutions which charge interest *and* fees.
  
  That said, fees here have increased in both number and amount, and the reason is because of too many borrowers defaulting.
  
  The best thing to do in order to increase the chances of fees being reduced in the future is always to make payments on time (or within the ten-day grace period *after* the due date) and to encourage every Zidisha borrower you know to do the same.
  
  Also note that to keep your on-time repayment percentage high, don't remit anything early because early remittances do not get factored into that calculation; only on-time payments (as defined above) and late payments go into that calculation.
